With this new ruling being tossed around in Congress, a lot of discussions have been made.

From what I hear, there’s a strong belief that the bill will pass in Congress & basically cement everybody where they are (even those wishing to move up).
So, SEC & B1G thinking of expanding & leaving before that ruling takes effect.

Im not a fan of government intervention in most things. But the people who say this ignore the fact that the government has already intervened. The NCAA gets overruled by the courts everytime they "grow a set."
The government has made this bed and neutered the NCAA. Only the government can fix that which they caused. Which unfortunately means it'll never happen. It's too late. But I'd at least like to see someone try

The problem is the government won't just give the NCAA anti-trust protection and tell them to enforce the rules. The government will want a say in what the rules are without any input from the athletes or schools it effects.
Your turning 100% control over to an entity which will never have the sports best interests at heart.

Congress does not make "rulings".

The SEC and BIG aren’t going any where by making their own league. That would really get Congress involved. You guys may think these schools run things but they are outnumbered.

Truthfully I don’t care about being in the sec anymore
This year in football we don’t play Tenn or lsu, but we play Vandy, Kentucky, Mizzou, and SCAR?
OU and Texas are kind of cool because it’s a novelty, but we’ll probably not play them for a while once we’re
Done with them this cycle of the schedule.
Playing Auburn is cool, but same as above with ou/texas
Point being besides UGA we don’t even play our most compelling yearly rivals anymore. The schedule has more sec games
But a lot of them aren’t that interesting

I'm still lost how the NCAA has been like this this long with nobody taking action sooner.

NCAA has as much authority as you do.
Injunction junction, what’s your function? (80’s Saturday morning cartoons reference)

While the NCAA had problems, they were minor compared to the problems caused by judges making rulings in lawsuits.
When most people talk about government interference, they are talking about several unelected judges doing the damage.
As long as the U.S. allows certain unelected lower level (not Supreme Court) judges to make rulings that affect the entire country, we will continue to have issues.

The NCAA gets sued every time they try to do something, and they usually lose. It will take Congress to pass a law that will survive a legal challenge in order to end this chaos.
