We put Fields at upback for some reason I can't explain and we let the entire playclock run down, letting bama see what we were doing and then cover it.
Who was calling the snap on that play? I have the feeling Fields had already decided he was leaving and he didn't want Georgia to win that game.

How about Dollar General? People wear their pajamas to Dollar General. They don't have to dress up like they do when they go to Walmart.

The DC wanted the HC job so he will leave Cleveland. He's good so some other team will hire him quickly.
Transfer Portal Update
Posted by AlaCowboy46 on 1/24/26 at 7:19 am
Can First City Dawg update the portal thread so we can all see who left and who came in? I don't follow it so much but I think we've picked up a couple of guys that can help.

Northwest Alabama has ice and freezing rain right now. Northeast Alabama has light rain freezing on the roads. I'm south of Huntsville and only a light rain but temperature is 29 so it'll start freezing on the roads. I have a propane heater and a propane grill if we lose power. When we had the tornados in 2011 we lost power for 6 days and survived. I have a generator we can use to keep the refrigerator and freezer powered if necessary. Prayers to all.

Sure looks like that ball was not way underthrown*
The side view of the play shows the WR about 2 yards deeper than the CB. Had Beck put just a little more air into the end zone it would have been a TD.

What I really kept thinking was that Miami, for all $6M they paid Beck, ended up being a significantly inferior version of our 2021 team
FIFY. Their defense doesn't hold a candle to what we had. Their offense doesn't have multiple future very good NFL WRs (even if we only got Pickens for a brief glimpse that year) or the best tight end in all of football.
The 2021 and 2022 defenses had players that could tackle anyone and DL that could run down RBs behind the line of scrimmage. Miami had none of that. I remember Jordan Davis running down the Alabama RB in the NC game twice before he could get to the edge and turn upfield. He did the same in the Michigan game

Ok so I’m supposed to believe Pete the arm chair qb instead of Beck and every other analyst I’ve heard talk about that play? Lol get a life dude
Doesn't matter what the coverage was. Beck threw the ball too short (as he did repeatedly when he was a Dawg) and the CB was where the ball went, not the WR. He threw several behind his targets and a few that hit the ground in front of his targets. Reminded me of his time with Georgia.

the depth would’ve been nice but it gets tiresome when fans act like every guy who exits is just a year away from being an all American.
I liked Rod Rob but he was 2 spring practices away from the injured list, and would be #4 on our RB list. Maybe he will get some carries at UAB.

That jump was a really dumb move for him. Kirby talked to him seriously on the sidelines and a couple of times the next few days. He got beat bad several times in the first 3-4 games against SEC teams but by the Texas game he was playing well. No QB will want to throw his way next season.

Pop Warner coached Georgia in 1895-1896, then went to Cornell .

Ellis Robinson IV Wins Award
Posted by AlaCowboy46 on 1/15/26 at 3:34 pm
After appearing in all fourteen games and earning starts in twelve of them in the 2025 season, Georgia cornerback Ellis Robinson put the college football world on notice as to why he’d previously been ranked as the nation’s top defensive back in high school.
Today, that impressive redshirt freshman campaign earned him further recognition, as the Football Writers Association of American named Robinson the 2025 Freshman Defensive Player of the Year.
He had a rough start in his first few games but he was the DB to avoid for opposing QBs for the rest of the season. He'll follow Starks and Ringo into the NFL.

Easy answer. That's where the money is, other than QB.

CFB Stafford had a 3 season audition for the NFL draft. CFB Bennett had a 3 season performance for the CFB Dawgs. I like the NFL Stafford. Maybe next season we'll get a look at the NFL Bennett.

Don't pretend Auburn didn't pay under the table too. Yor last NC was bought and paid for. Your 1957 title was revoked for the same reason.
