I think it is wrong for any team to exploit Fields based on his health condition. His life is more important than football and playing the most brutal game on earth does not compare with living.

Dude...unlike Cam Newton, his parents aren't selling him to the highest bidder. There's no "exploitation" going on.

Hmmm… a freak of nature athlete with a cannon..

OR

An inbred lard arse that will be managing a Buffalo Wild Wings in 5 years, who sucked for his entire career - but was “good” (by A1abana’s arse cheeks QB standards) - when the best players didn’t take the field.

tHaT iS a ToUgH oNe.

And did I mention his substance abuse and other off field issues?

It all depends on the system they get put in. I'm sure whoever goes to SF will do better then JAX and the Jets. Those two teams are a hot mess. If I'm SF I'm picking between Jones and Fields, I don't know why they're so high on Lance. Especially with them saying yesterday that they're are going for a starting QB. If Mac doesn't get picked by SF I hope he goes to the Patriots because everything between them is either a dumpster franchise or not in need of a QB. Atlanta would be interesting but I highly doubt they go QB.

Mac Jones. Unathletic dude that uses short and medium range accuracy to compensate for a below average arm. Very good college QB that just lacks the tools to play in the NFL at a high level. He benefited greatly by having NFL WRs at the college level.

Sounds like someone has lost QB perspective. Could just be a simple case of a 4 year run of Guaranturnover overload.

Bama fans won't like it, but this is the correct answer.

Neither one of them may pan out to be incredible NFL QBs, but Jones has a better chance of having a longer career, whether he is a starter or a backup.

You sound like the kind of person who thinks he does well on a test, then is shocked when he gets it back and sees he failed.

When did he have a chance to be clutch? The Bama recruiting machine rolled over literally everyone this year.

He was an outstanding fit for Bama and was a very good College QB. He had the poise and mindset to lead a team that was 1-2 levels of talent ahead of 99% of the teams they could play and he famously just didn’t make mistakes. Solid coaching, great talent around him, a very good scheme made him a household name. I just don’t see him benefiting from that in the NFL. I just don’t see what he brings to the table as a transferable skill set in the NFL.

Great kid and I respect what he does, just not an NFL QB1. He will hold a clipboard for a rookie contract and move on with his life.

I would probably go with the guy who actually did well in hostile environments.

Fields never played in a hostile environment against a team even approaching OSU's caliber in talent.

But yes, let's all marvel at how well he did in their only two away games, vs powerhouses 2-5 Michigan State and 4-5 Penn State. In those neutral site games, he must have carved up those defenses without all that rough crowd noise, right?

12-27, 114 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT, 4.2 ypa vs Northwestern
17-33, 194 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 5.9 ypa vs Alabama
