What Is Projection?

Unconscious discomfort can lead people to attribute unacceptable feelings or impulses to someone else to avoid confronting them. Projection allows the difficult trait to be addressed without the individual fully recognizing it in themselves.

You just can't tell the truth about anything can you?

11/19/22 - Hooker goes down vs. South Carolina
11/20/22 - ESPN's Chris Low reports Hooker is out for the season - LINK
11/26/22 - Milton shits the bed vs. Vandy

And let’s be honest who has a QB that would run this system today better than Milton?

Literally any QB with accuracy and touch.

Meh. Who gives a shite? Will be fun to have the flexibility to have the best game of the week be a night game instead of always in the 3:30 slot.

Penalties, not getting lined up, and communications on the defense have been a burden to this program. Fundamentals have been missing.

Agreed. IMO, the ever-increasing lack of discipline is the clearest indicator of Saban losing his edge. A younger, more driven Saban would have never allowed his team to slide like this.

Not a QB in the SEC I would take over Joe Milton right now

Funny that the only person who wants Joe Overthrow is a UT fan.

I'm gonna go with Devin Leary as well. Lots of positive buzz coming out of camp about him.

Kirby wants to play murder ball

Kirby's actions in the portal don't support that notion. If he really wanted to play murderball why didn't he go get another RB or a big blocking TE in the portal this offseason? Instead, he snagged two of the best WR prospects available b/c he knew Beck was gonna sling the ball around this year.
For UGA:

QB: Beck with 4000+ yds passing

RB: by committee with no real standouts

WR: Lovett with 1000+ yds

TE: Bowers with 1000+ yds
Bama lost because they had a moron defensive coordinator that didn't relize he didn't have the personnel at safety to cover Hyatt. 6 rec for 207 yds and 5 TDs due to the boneheaded scheme.

They are stacked at RB. Losing Stetson and Monken s a much bigger deal.

Honestly, I'm more worried about the health of the RB room than how Beck and Bobo will do.

Scholarship Backs

D. Edwards- held out of practice yesterday

K. Milton - hasn't practiced most of fall camp

A. Paul - 1 year removed from ACL repair

R. Robinson - true Fr and seems healthy

Preferred Walk Ons

Cash Jones - three star out of Texas

Sevaughn Clark - former HS QB

Len’Neth Whitehead - transfer from Tenn

That is scary thin IMO

I'll bet up to 5k usd with anyone here that UGA's offense sees a big dropoff.

How big of a dropoff you ask?

They were ranked #5 in total yards last year. I think they will drop the bottom level 20 ish or mid 30 range.

I'm not saying they will be bad on offense, I'm saying there will be a big dropoff compared to last year.

Points are the metric that matters. What's your number for points per game that UGA will dropoff to? 28?

I think Beck is going to set UGA all-time passing records this season

quote:

so much delusion in this thread, not just the Tennessee guy

That's not far as far fetched as it may sound. Stetson set the record last year with 4127 yds in 15 games played. For Beck to beat that he'd only need to average slightly north of 275 ypg over 15 games or about 295 over 14 games.

A recent example of a guy, like Carson, waiting his turn to be the starter as an upperclassmen, is Mac Jones who averaged 346 ypg in his one season as the guy.

Now Carson won't be that prolific, but 275 or even 295 isn't that far out of the realm of possibility.

Tennessee had a huge lockeroom situation event right before the SC game and the defense completely laid down that game. Offense was out of sync as well..

How did Heupel allow this level of team disfunction to happen? Seriously, you're saying that your defense threw a game because of feelings, and you aren't pissed that the man in charge allowed that to happen? Unreal.

Some things to keep in mind about the '21 offense vs. the '23 offense are just how young the '21 group was at WR/TE and how much better and more experienced the '23 group is at OL.

Remember Pickens got hurt in the spring, so he missed the entire regular season leaving true FR Brock Bowers to be the leading pass catcher with FR Ladd McConkey as the third option.

Beck has much better options at WR and TE this year if you just count Ladd and Bowers being two years more experienced. Also, the interior OL is light years ahead with Van Pran, Ratledge, and Truss. And while the tackle spots are less experienced Mims is a top ten draft pick kinda guy and Greene/Blaske will be fine at LT.

Didn't Stetson throw for around 2800 his first season as a starter?

He did, but he essentially didn't play in two games and then shared reps with JT Daniels in a few other games. Remember JT Daniels was named the starter out of fall camp, and there was a good bit of back and forth through the season.

Especially since Georgia will play a pretty weak schedule and will likely pound the ball a ton and have a big lead late, leading to fewer passing attempts.

While the schedule is weak, the health of the RB room is questionable. I think the Dawgs will pass a little more out of necessity than they otherwise would.

quote:

I mean he could do it but I wouldn't say it's reasonable to expect a first-time starter to throw for 250 yards per game.

That's only 10 yards per game more than KJ Jefferson passed for last year. Beck has NFL arm talent, so I can't imagine he'll pass for less than that.

It's really just simple math.

It's not unreasonable to expect Beck to throw for 250 yards a game. That's 25 less than Stetson did last year.

13 games x 250 ypg = 3250
14 games x 250 ypg = 3500
15 games x 250 ypg = 3750

2700 yds as a over/under would get crushed in Vegas

Really no way to make a fair prediction,

Sure there is.

First of all, just because a guy hasn't played with the game on the line doesn't mean he can't be competently evaluated. One can still assess his arm mechanics, his accuracy, his ball placement, his timing, his footwork, his ability to work his progressions, and his pocket movement. All of these characteristics put together help to support the assertion that he'll do well when it counts.

Second, he's already played against the best defense he will see all year. We,as fans, haven't seen it, but Kirby has, and his confidence in Beck comes from those evaluations. I'm comfortable taking Kirby's word on this.
