Yeah I would probably complain about that too if I had been rejected.

But wait. I was told aTm sucks and one even called it a diploma mill....I’m confused.

I’ve seen so many bullshite jabs from LSU fans at the Aggies beyond football and take exception to it. Our boys are headed to Eagle and hope to be in College Station one day.

I love LSU football and my school, but when it comes to an environment where my kids have a better chance at life, I’m going with aTm. Make fun of them all you want, they are damn fine people (for the most part) and the school is rock solid.

Auburn grads make more than Georgia or Florida alums??
Something's wrong here.

I am sure some will disagree, but this ranking has more to do with location than it does what college you went to. The top ones are where the jobs are - either big cities or where there is a ton of industry. A&M grads get Houston jobs, which tend to have a higher ladder to climb than whatever the hell people do in Kentucky. If A&M was in eastern Wyoming, it would be last on the list.

List is really shite. Harvard?, Yal?e and Cal-Tech are outside the Top 10? Plus, 4 of top 5 are in California. Pretty biased.

Its because the list is best colleges FOR THE VALUE

Their methodology takes in salary info which would automatically skew the rankings in favor of schools in the northeast and west where the cost of living is much higher thus wages are typically higher as a result.

A&M puts grads out into lots of places - not every Aggie lives in TX. I live in CO, and things here are adjusted a bit because of that. But yes, A&M has always been considered a good education for the value

We will see how that changes with the latest ranking systems, and changes at A&M. A lot of Aggies are not happy about those changes

Part of the grading methodology:

quote:

Job meaning (5%). We used the average score of each school’s alumni on PayScale.com’s survey question of “Does your work make the world a better place?”

quote:

Socio-economic mobility index (20%). We included data provided by the Equality of Opportunity Project that reveals the percentage of students each school move from low-income backgrounds to upper-middle-class jobs by the time the student reaches their mid-30s.

quote:

Affordability for low-income students (20%). This is based on federally collected data on the net price that students from families earning $0 to $30,000 pay.

quote:

Have a graduation rate that was at or above the median for its institutional category (public, private or historically black college or university), or have a high “value-added” graduation rate (in other words: score in the top 25% of our test of graduation rates after accounting for the average test scores and percentage of low income students among its enrollees).

Basically...if you are a SJW that does something that you feel "makes the world a better place", and if your school loads up on the poors...it greatly improves your score.
