I think there is a simple solution. LSUx takes the players, puts them on the roster, pays them as agreed by school and player, then benches them for the season. They get their money and the school is not punished by the SEC because they never played.

SEC would probably still try to fine LSU. Then again there's always a price to make these players go away.

Doubtful. The SEC is an unincorporated association just like the NCAA, making it a resident of every state where it has a member institution. No diversity of citizenship between the parties equals no federal jurisdiction.

Don’t laugh, but that might be the exact result of all this.
For all the reporting on this, none of the journalists have provided any good analysis of all the issues. For example, when the SEC issued its list of penalties today, it didn’t really tie them to the new NFL issue, which is what the players are suing over.
Instead, the SEC said the penalties are there to enforce all of its player eligibility rules, but it specifically referenced the intra-conference transfer rules that have been in effect since 2023. Those rules prohibit an intra-conference transfer outside of the normal time frame, but do allow a player to join the transferee team, practice, and get paid, so long as he doesn’t compete in intercollegiate contests.
