Poor Mike...what a badass mascot.

Glad he had a good life and got the best care.

Mike VI, was born July 23, 2005, and came to LSU when he was two years old.

Euthanasia on a 500 lbs tiger is not like putting down a dog. There are logistics involved and many of his care takers need time to say their goodbyes.

I hate to hear this. Mike is far and away the best mascot in college sports. I sincerely hope for LSU fans that Mike VII lives a long, healthy life.

Well our vet school is one of the best in the country and we have particular expertise in tigers for obvious reasons. Mike gets better care than any captive tiger in the world with the exception of the San Diego Zoo tigers. He will be taken care of as much as humanly possible as he goes.
