4 teams from over 120. The goal long term should be to grow interest in the sport, not shrink it. Eliminating 95% of the field from consideration by default does not do that.

If you stick with the 4 team format where only one of maybe 7 teams have a chance to even make it yearly... the best players will continue to just flock to those teams. Long term, killing the sport. The sport needs to feel at least like your team could make a run to keep it exciting.
