15th in team sacks. LSU is 40th in team sacks.

Man stop crying. MSU had a good plan down there and it was working. They were in the game and had just driven down to make it tight, until they did what MSU does and totally blew a coverage.

State didn't have the players. Clemson does. The point I was making, and it's valid,is Clemson drew from their gameplan the year before, and they very well might again.

They have something Mississippi State does not have. An offense. And a defense.

LSU fans don’t realize what Brent Venables is. Dude will go back to Burrow’s highschool film and coach to find out what makes him most uncomfortable if he has to. He went back 3 years of film for the 2008 NC game while at Oklahoma. There’s a reason why he’s the best coordinator in football. And it’ll show on monday.

I see your point, but LSU's run game wasn't quite figured out until mid season. Once we figured out the right mix with CEH, it was a rap.

I saw Tua interviewed and he said if he had one thing to say to Joe is, “Expect to see things you haven’t seen on any Clemson film.”

Lack of competition during a season has its advantages. I’m sure they had to roll out some new stuff for Ohio State, though. I know you have to identify where 11 is pre and post snap.

All you LSU fans do anytime something doesn’t go your way especially when it comes to Alabama is blame the refs. It’s a habit born from frustration and losing year in and year out to a team that’s better than you in every way.

How healthy is he? If you watch that game, they were running him, and he was effective. But LSU was hell bent on throwing the ball in the Red Zone.

It eventually worked, but it did not very well until very late in the first half. That cheap TD seemed to take the wind out of Bully's sails.

Every big time coordinator in CFB goes back and looks at old game film, that isn't some kind of big revelation. If I had to guess, I would even expect him to *GASP* look at some tape on Brady's tendencies prior to LSU. Amazing!

You act like Saban, Smart, grantham, and a host of others haven't done their research on burrow. Eventaully it just doesn't matter if the guy is good enough.

Could have sworn LSU is already familiar with him, 2003 BCS, 2012 Peach.

Have no reason to disrespect him but it is not like LSU hasn't faced at least average DCs this season.

Venables is a sneaky motherfricker and Brady will try to exploit matchups

Clemson will have to suck it up and play bend but don’t break

Another big advantage Clemson has, is that schedule they play. They can start looking well ahead, because let's face it, they play a 2 game schedule every season.

They could project who their likely opponents were going to be probably before their conference championship game, which they knew they were going to win. Hell well before that maybe.

Start breaking down film and putting in work. It's an advantage no one else has.

LSU has faced 9 of Saturday Down South's top 25 defensive play callers this season.
Venables is #1 and will he the 10th.

I just did. State was right there, and gave up a cheap one with a blown coverage late in the second.
state had nothing to do with Dillon missing an easy td throw.

One thing Clemson has going for it is Venables. He is an outstanding coach. If we didn't have Pruitt I'd seriously be jealous because I think Venables is one of the best in the business when it comes to defensive playcalling and he's been particularly good when he's had a long time to gameplan (and that's exactly what the long arse break before the championship provides).

Their offense has been good every year they have been in the CFP *but* it's been Venables and their defense that has won them games.
