The virtue signaling from Mulkey here is unreal.
You can absolutely take a stand against associating with and legitimizing a nation that unjustly starts a genocidal war against its neighbor ( Link 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
Especially if it’s someone as controversial as a Russian pro player.
This isn’t about just accepting a better player who really wants to come to LSU, or upgrading at a position of proven deficiency.
This is another shameless mortgaging of the once-proud LSU brand, this time to pay a mercenary that you know will drive off a player with whom you already contracted, for the hope of short-term success. All because you lack any ethics to do things the right way

She's 17 I think? I get where both parties are coming from. Mulkey has an innocent girl that's a good player and she needs to recruit for her team to be successful. The Ukrainian girl has a dad in the Ukrainian army.
I had hoped this would be one of those things where they become friends and it's a feel good story. I guess not.
I don't think anyone is a villain here, though.
