The war in Ukraine is a 20 yr old girl’s fault?
She is 17 and was 13 when the invasion began and people act like she was a Spetsnaz commander leading the invasion. Some ranters on the TR have invoked Godwin's law and drug out the Nazi comparison.
No one has shown anything that shows she is a war supporter or bad person or anything at all that disparages her character. They are just conditioned to hear Russian and get all up in their feels. It is sad that we are to the point a 17yo girl playing basketball is political but here we are.

I don’t support Russia or Ukraine though that might make your cable news mind explode

This has nothing to do with the girl you LSU dumbasses.
It has to do with Mulkey creating an entirely avoidable problem for marginal-to-no-gain and then virtue signaling justification in the most pathetic way.
It also has to do with, as someone said above, continuing to legitimize and deflect the actions of people that are our enemy, namely Putin’s government in Russia (and those that support him)

Since you brought it up, our own CIA orchestrated a coup there and set up bases along the Russian border. Ethnic Russians in the east were being bombed by that dick waving gay midget, Zelensky. Wuhan style biolabs were operating within that entirely corrupt shithole country, too. And oh yeah, we were going to bring Ukraine into NATO. Imagine Mexico joining a military alliance with China and putting missiles along our border. It's not as cut and dried as you think.
• Yanukovych was a Russian puppet whom the Ukrainian people overthrew because they consistently want nothing to do with Russia
• Crimea annexation and Minsk II fall-out were catalysts for local conflicts in Donbas. Zelensky was an actor at the time you idiot
• The point of NATO is to resist Russian aggression. Literally it’s raison d’etre. Ukraine gave up its nukes in the 90’s as part of a long-term planing to migrate them westward to Europe and NATO; Russia agreed to all of this at that time. Putin deciding to unilaterally break that agreement is not Ukraine’s fault

Hey, I'm sorry your life is so pointless that you have to attack a women's basketball coach on a Tuesday.
Hope things get better for you.

What problem other than making hive-minded stooge's vaginas bleed?
The real virtue signaling here is proclaiming a 17yo girl shouldn't be allowed to play basketball because of where she happened to be born. She was 13 when the invasion began and I'm reasonably sure she had no say then and still has no say now.

How does a 17yo girl play basketball legitimize Putin or his decisions? This is just laughable.
Maybe you are not aware, but many Russians do not support Putin or the invasion, they just can shout it out in the streets. To think this girl should be ostracized because of where she was born is pathetic.

Exactly, the problem is Putin and his government, not a 17yo girl playing basketball. Punishing her is nothing more than virtue signaling that you claim to hate.
Rage on though, it is what you are programmed to do.

To the serious point: this has to do with Mulkey. This has to do with the LSU athletics program’s decision-making abilities. It has to do with them continuing to make poor decisions that damage their reputation and impairs their brand, harms the SEC brand, and most importantly, actively contributes to the decline of the health of college sports.
That’s why this is on tRant.
Russian AND a former pro AND a transfer meant to directly push out a former recruited transfer, meaning you lied to her. Endorsing any of that just awful ethical behavior is says all I need to know about a person: that they’re a piece of human garbage. And there’s a lot of them floating around here. Are you one?
It’s really too bad all these yaw yaws can’t understand anything more complex than whether or not LSU won the big game. Louisiana had a lot of promise at one point.

I repeat it because you try to tie her to a dictator invading a country. It is ridiculous to connect her to Putin.

She is an eligible player under the current rules plain and simple. Whine all you want but that is the situation.
Anna was willing to play with Kate, it was Kate's decision to leave. So be it. You can't let players run the show. You think there should be a team vote for every new player for every team?
You can throw out all the insults you want, no one cares. You are quite amusing in your emotional melting.

Well the issue isn't that she shouldn't play in the US cause she's from Russia, it's that Mulkey was dumb enough to believe that her and Ukrainian player would be besties like it's a Disney movie and not the deadliest European conflict since WW2.
She clearly values the Russian player over the Ukranian player (even though she appears to have been a solid contributor just looking at stats.) But she could have chosen not to recruit her since she knew one of her players has a father literally fighting in the war. Instead she acts like she had no say in the matter.
She comes off incredibly stupid looking to me. But this is the last time I'll think about LSU's women's basketball for a very long time so it's not like my particular opinion matters. I guess a lot of American's have kept the war at arm's length and don't really grasp the seriousness or implications of it.

I had similar thoughts as well regarding Mulkey knowing this was a possibility and feeling it was worth taking a chance on the Russian center.
From a quality of play standpoint neither are the answer for LSU to be a national title contender
