So the difference between first (public university, not Vandy) and last (LSU) is a mere $7K. Really not much in the grand scheme of things.

It is actually ~$12,000 in-state or ~$27,000 out of state.
LSU in state would be ~$48,000 cheaper than Oklahoma over 4 years, and over $100,000 cheaper than Texas for out of state.

Missouri has schools of Law, Medicine, Veterinary Med, Engineering, Ag Science, and a research reactor for isotope production all on one campus. Throw in the Trulaske College of Business and the J-School and you have a pretty solid value for instate students.

Not sure if I am reading your post accurately, because UF is the cheapest. I don't know where that site you have linked gets its info from.

I see you are strictly talking about out of state. Yeah UF charges way more for out of state. Nevermind.

In state is subsidized by the state to make up difference. It means less tax dollars if you don’t have as much spread in out of state vs in state.

I’m old, but paid $3 a semester/hour, plus fees. Under $200 a semester.

We put three through there over the past 15 years. Our last was probably 27k six years ago. That’s a big increase!

It's absurd. (Tuition for me when I started LSU was $600/semester)
But, I wonder what these rates look like when factoring in commonly used state assistance like TOPS at LSU or HOPE (?) at UGA.
We had one of our kids go to Arkansas, and used their 90% off out of state fees scholarship that is available for neighboring states. Still was comparatively expensive, though, because our daughter could have stayed in-state and gotten TOPS.
