LSU Ranked last in SEC - Tuition

LSU has always been pretty good about this.

LSU and Tennessee are practically begging out of state kids to please come with those rates.

Florida looks like a good deal for in-state students.

Never understood why anyone would pay out of state tuition for a public out of state college. There are 2-3 public universities that might justify it, but the vast majority do not. Maybe if you receive really good scholarships...but paying full price for out of state is nuts 99% of the time.

Is this a bad thing?

having a daughter starting her senior year and its so ridiculous the suburban parents we know that are bragging about all the out of state schools they're visiting and the money they're spending, and of course add a sorority to it.

What a waste of money, especially in this AI world where 45% of graduates are living at home and almost 40% unemployed.

So few out of state students get in at A&M and Texas, I don't know that those numbers really mean much. Here's the rankings strictly based on in-state rates:

A&M in state tuition is about $12k /year Cost of attendance can be very low if you get the cheapest dorms or rent a cheap place farther from campus. Food cost can be low too if you don't eat fast food all the time. I knew lots of folks paying their own way through school at A&M.

Based on their respective websites — the difference in in-state tuition for Auburn and Alabama looks to be roughly $800. The rest of what makes up the numbers are basically made up guesses on housing, food, transportation, “miscellaneous” or “personal.”

Interestingly, the estimated total cost for undergrad off-campus instate is almost the same: Ala $37,446 vs Aub $37,216.
