No. Stretch the footprint of the Olympic sports complex to include the six lane oval for indoor track. There's plenty of room in the current footprint of Taylor stadium to make it fit.

Then stretch the footprint into the infield to handle a 6 lane oval.

The Hearnes is a money pit that is grossly oversized for the sports that perform in it. Volleyball and wrestling average 3500ish per home event and gymnastics is probably closer to 6500. It costs a million dollars just heat/cool it amd keep the lights on every year. Taylor stadium would be the perfect place for an 7500 seat Olympic sports facility. It would fit in the outfield. They could have the grading and ground work done at the same time the stands and dugouts are being demolished. Knocking down the Hearnes is no small task but wouldn't take long to put a ball park in, especially if it's going to be an all turf playing surface. Commit and get on with it.

There are workarounds for everything. It will require cash and creativity. Pump some money into a local ball field and make it work for a season. The baseball squad is years away from being competitive anyway. Raze both structures simultaneously, get the new groundworks in and start pouring footings. If Farmers can't support that number of trucks per day, someone can fill the gaps in. This is the SEC and sitting on your hands won't work.

Does Mizzou have the cash for this?

Veatch got hired to figure this out and find donors.

Knock down the Hearnes build a new stadium in its footprint. Build a new Olympic sports complex in the footprint of Taylor.

Put two linemen in the draft. He's probably the most underrated coach on the team.

Jensen and Thomalla should anchor another state championship winner next fall. They both have all the tools to make a difference on a P5 team. Jensen's only question is can he put on another 20lbs and keep it during the season.

Here is a report that the Lions might take him in the first round. He has tremendous upside and makes big plays when the team needs him to. He blocked for his teammates and celebrated their big plays with them. That's all on tape.

Bob McGinn covers Green Bay so his "report" seems like a shot at a division rival that swept his team and is looking to only get better on offense.....and to create clicks.
