I think it will depend on whether Joe Brady is still at LSU.
Someone else please hire this man!!!

He's due for a massive raise. LSU is not letting him walk to another collegiate program. Unless it's for a HC job, which he is not ready for.

If OM is still shiddy enough that we don't have a 50/50 chance on Arch coming out then the RebSharks should just stop playing football

Nah, if it was all about team loyalty to OM, Tennessee would never have gotten a Manning. The loyalty was to David Cutcliffe, who the family thought would give them the best prep for the NFL. LSU would be wise to hire Cutcliffe as a QB coach if he’s interested in retirement from HC (he’s pretty old), otherwise I could see Arch going to Duke.

It’s pretty much impossible to match what Burrow is doing, but Brennan is also pretty good. We’ll be fine.

now with the transfer portal, it won't be hard for any team to grab what they need.

Lots of HCs are not ready, with his offense in the right place, he would do fine. Somebody hire this man!

Just kidding, LSU should do all they can to keep him.

It’s obviously going to drop at least slightly; Burrow is playing at an unprecedented level. That isn’t to say that the offense won’t be able to execute however as it appears the scheme does a good job of creating open windows and taking advantage of weaknesses in opposing defenses.

or is Burrow that talented

It really is quite funny how things go on this board...

2018, Summer, LSU signs Joe Burrow. SEC fans laugh at LSU picking up a 3rd team scrub from a B10 school. LSU fans point out his HS accomplishments, such as:
Passed for 11,416 yards (4th in Ohio HS records) with 157 passing touchdowns (3rd) and rushed for 2,067 yards with 27 rushing touchdowns.

Awarded the Ohio Mr. Football Award and Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year Award as a senior.

Then the 2018 season plays out with Burrow under center for the first time in his career, and SEC fans point, laugh and call him 50% Joe.

Then 2019 practice starts, LSU fans talk about using the spread offense and how this will help Burrow, SEC fans point and laugh, and ask, "how do you realistically expect Burrow to get any better throwing the ball?"

The 2019 season starts playing out with Burrow near the top of the country in QB production, and SEC fans all want to know how this happened. "Is this some fluke?"

So, yes, QB play should change significantly once Burrow leaves, he's really, really good - as LSU fans have been saying all along.

QB play will definitely suffer. We'll never again have a QB performance like the one we're seeing now. Burrow is playing himself into "the best season off all time" conversation. This will never happen again at LSU.

Very doubtful that we see the same level of efficiency that Burrow is playing at, however as long as the same coaches and schemes are being ran then I would expect it to still be pretty good.

Brennan is the all time leader in passing for Miss. passing Favre. His senior season he threw for 48 TDs/3 INTs and had another 9 rushing. The level of play was not high though. One of his biggest issues has been his ability to add weight. He was 6'4 and in the 170's for a long time and finally is above 200 lbs. He did play in a similar offense so he should transition well and is a RS soph.

He obviously won't have Burrow level success, but should do very well considering we return nearly the entire offense outside of QB and he's had time in Brady's system.

I don’t think LSUs 2020 starter is currently on the roster

The transfer portal will come calling

Brennan will need to show poise and and understanding of where to deliver the ball. He has the ability to sling it, and will have a ton of weapons back at his disposal. Don’t expect him to be Burrow though

I expect Brennan to be much better at the position than LSU has typically been (prior to this year) and running a system that fits him. He will likely throw for a LOT of yards. I do NOT expect him to have the experience or intangibles that championship QBs typically have. Burrow is unique and special.

I would expect it to take a significant step back next year. That’s just what happens when you lose a 2 year starter like Burrow. 2 years from now (Brennon’s second year as a starter) I would hope the offense begins to click again.
