As someone who sits at a desk all day, I'll def be trying it more often.
I'm going to give you what is probably an unpopular opinion. But given your diabetic status.

Get on Ozempic/Monjaruo/etc. and maybe Metformin.

You don't need motivation. It cuts out the desire of snacking and helps you regulate caloric intake.

No I'm not on it, but I've seen this "drug" change a LOT of lives.

How much time do you spend on your side gig while at your plant job?

Zero hours while working my full-time job. I do not mix the too. May respond to a phone call or a text, but I do not do any actual work.

The type of tear I have. Cleavage tear. Low probability of success. They could also trim the torn piece away, but then I would have less meniscus to bear on, increasing likelihood of knee replacement down the road.

Anyone get this for soft tissue injuries? I have a torn meniscus that's been very bothersome. Not promising feedback for surgery at my age (late 30s), so I'm considering injections. Wanted to see if anyone has had positive outcomes from it.

TIA

Scoring 6 runs on the road as the #2 team in the country against an unranked team is so unacceptable

Fastball/Change up.

That’s it.

Damnit.

Consider the price you are asking, you may consider adding 10-20% and seeing what that does.

Its very possible you increase your price to make up for paying someone else to do it, and still come out the same.

I actually had this thought last night. Maybe the increase is volume is telling me I'm not charging enough! My fees have been pretty consistent within the last 5 years.

ETA: However, I'm fairly in tune to industry, and I'm not significantly cheaper, although certainly cheaper because of lack of overhead.

How is your time management? Do you feel completely overwhelmed with work 24/7?

At times I suppose. But honestly not due to the side business. It's been fairly manageable, and I enjoy it when I'm doing it. It's being married to the Plant that gets more stressful at times.

Long term goal is to make this my full time gig but we're still a ways away from me being able to do that

Awesome!! Sounds like a great goal. Best of luck.
Just sell puts and collect the premium. If you love BTC, then sell like the 30 delta for an aggressive premium.
Experienced options trader here:

It's all based on your sentiment!

BITX just broke out above the 50D MA on the weekly chart. Next target would be to close the Nov 11 gap of $44.43. Then to close the Feb 24th gap of $49.

If you think it continues higher.. Looks likely based on chart, then roll up and out for whatever credit you can.

I'd say buy to close the $45 and roll to 5/30 $50 strike.

fwiw, liquidity looks like shite in these options. The spreads are terrible.

ETA: Because it's a CC, you can wait until the day of EXP to make a move if you'd like.

Also: Look into trading $IBIT instead. Options are more liquid.

Thank you

Can you hire another engineer to do what you’re doing and expand it? You can run it like a side hustle but scale it up.

I've strongly considered hiring a designer/drafter. The most time consuming thing I do that "erodes" my time value is drafting in Cad. There's some other high-level admin type stuff that a drafter could easily handle for me as well.

So, yes. I've been thinking strongly about it. Even if it takes 10-20% of my income, just the return of my time would be worth it.

Milestone for side business

In April, for the first time, my side gig monthly income has exceeded my full-time job income.

For transparency, I'm an engineer, work in the plants and own my consulting business on the side.

Started it in 2018. In 2022, i completed 37 projects. In 2023, I completed 39 projects, in 2024 it "exploded" to 64. Well, in 2025, I'm at 52 projects as of 4/22. No business development. No marketing. Purely word of mouth.

I think often about moving to it full-time but fear that I might hate it once I'm dependent on it

New York Weekend Trip with the Family

Posted by Brobocop on 4/21/25 at 7:21 am
Heading to NYC this Friday and returning monday with the wife, 7 year old and 5 year old. Quick trip to visit a friend. We're staying in the financial district.

Weather looking iffy for Saturday, but nice Friday and Sunday.

What would you try to squeeze in in 2.5 days? May need indoor activities for Saturday due to rain.

Things we've thought about:
Statue of Liberty ferry ride (Friday), Natural science museum, Timesquare (hit all the kid relevant stores), central park.

"For most of your life, you will be a net BUYER of stocks. So if you are a net buyer, you should want prices LOWER!"

No different than when you go to the grocery store to buy beef. Unless you're the cattle farmer, you want the price of beef to fall...

Anyone outside of their 50's should absolutely LOVE what the market is doing currently.
Buc-ees doesn’t count.

I’ll say Home Depot. Arthur blank has Fine amenities.

Texas has a solid team.

LSU needs to shore (no pun intended) up the weekend rotation and figure out who can emerge from the bullpen.

Bullpen cost LSU this series.

That was the greatest upset of all time after Larry Owings beat Dan Gable to make Gable finish 117-1
