This is so stupid

Dude has gotten half an EGOT since leaving the show and makes a killing doing voiceover work in the biggest non live action movies made
Can already see the ride this board will go though on this one

Spring: we got em folks

Summer: dammit he’s picking Texas, he can’t pass up the insane deal he’s getting from them. He’s getting part ownership in the Mavs

Fall: staff is not giving up, but can’t imagine he flips at this point

Signing day: “ima fighting tiger” - Easton Royal
He needs more blankets AND less blankets!
Dawg hasn’t heard of the All 22

American Pie’s music puts it ahead of Superbad.

On the contrary I think Superbad’s music is part of what makes it feel timeless vs American pie being extremely era specific

Love both but I think over the long haul American Pie is just the 90s Porkys and Superbad is closer to a Ferris Buehler in terms of cultural impact

It’s a kids movie, lotta people on this site have kids. Not that hard to figure out

I took 5 of us to see Project Hail Mary on Sunday $100+ for tickets $100+ for concessions AC was broken in the theater. Hot as balls. Making good movies will put asses in seats, yeah, but goddamn, something's gotta give with these prices

These kind of posts remind me of when streaming was popping off and people complained it was more expensive than cable because they would stack every conceivable streaming service cost on top of each other rather than realize you can pick and choose which service you pay for monthly and cut and run whenever you want

First things first- there almost no activity available today that you can take a family of 5 out for and not spend 100 plus bucks.

Movie theater costs similarly - are a skill issue for the most part, most theaters offer discounts days and discounted times that would knock off 15-20 percent of that if you go on a Tuesday or Wednesday rather than a weekend. Keep in mind you’re paying a premium bc of the imax showing as well

Complaining about the food prices again, total skill issue. Just bring your own snacks. The minimum wage employee at the door does not care. You can pick up the same snacks at the dollar store for like 10 bucks total.

Finally, taking it a step further if you really want bang for your buck, if you are paying 100 bucks for 5 people to see a movie anyway, might as well buy 5 AMC passes, and you just 4x the same amount of spend, can go back to the movies 3 more times that month for the same price, then cancel it at the end of the month.

Not saying ticket prices like most things haven’t gotten way more expensive, but it can be relatively inexpensive for going out and entertaining a family for 2-3 hours if you do it right
While a nice sentiment, don’t think it really captures the issue

Worked out great for PHM, but the insanely overbloated budgets and home run swings for every movie they make is a big part of the issue. Studios put in 300 mil of cash into a mediocre project and then lament that the theater is dead when they don’t make that money back.

Not only should studios give audiences better movies to bring people to the theaters, they should also give them more opportunities to go to the theaters without a massive watermark needed to be considered a success. Diversity budgets, diversify the genres that get a decent budget, and build up a combination of small and big wins to counter act smaller losses rather than the go big or go home mentality

Anyone who gets their political views solely from a late night show has room temp IQ, these people share the same voting power as you and me.

Id group them in the same category of people who get their politics from comedian podcasts
Bill needs to just hand over the reigns to this over to CR full time and just be a spot guest for 80s movies

Glad to see the Nice Guys get its flowers here
There’s almost nothing more inherently political in our society than healthcare. Would be kind of insane to avoid the topics people on this board consider “woke”
First 4 seasons are near perfect but the ending is worse than you can possibly imagine and it’s not like a sitcom where you can just say it ran its course, the entire plot is driven from scene 1 by the ultimate ending the show is pushing towards, and for some reason the show runners actively made every bad decision you possibly could to give you the worst ending you could imagine

I can’t bring myself to watch any of the older episodes because of how bad the ending is. The ending taints the work made before it.

Felt like a poor evolution of the late stage Les miles recruiting strategy of “come to lsu and declare for the draft as soon as humanly possible”

Which lead to some decent signing classes but got crushed against Saban getting first rounders to stat for their senior year every cycle
You’re replying to a guy who used to post professionally taken photos of himself in his underwear on this site with regularity
I just listened to a Mr Sunday Movies recap vid that mentioned the same thing about that being seeds for a sequel book. Not sure how that would be fleshed out in a book but maybe it’s just a knot he plans to work out in a sequel that isn’t super directly tied to those events
Probably a dumb question but did the two astronauts kill themselves or die of some other cause? Seems like it would be a bit early to hit the KYS button in that situation, but I also don’t remember them explaining some other reason they would’ve died on ship. I get they were just going to send the probe back and the plan was to kill themselves but I’d prob atleast stick around to see some stuff no human has come close to ever experiencing before
Feels like they recycle this kind of QB drama no matter whose on the list

Next up will be Chris Simms making a top QB list that has like Drew Allar or Taylon Green as QB1
Got my threads mixed up- reposting here

Saw it last night in IMAX and really dug it. Haven’t read the book, felt the science stuff was just the right mix of not too complex to bore you but not completely nonsense to keep the plot moving

My only real gripe for lack of a better word are there are a couple of emotional notes that they could’ve just let breathe better. There would be like 2-3 gosling quips in a scene where the emotion is really swelling and I think they were scared to bask in that long enough for it to give it the full weight it should’ve had

Also I’d add some of the time to and from earth didn’t really make sense to me. Going back being only 4 years seems kind of short, also feels like some of the earth damage would be kind of already done by the time they got the data and could do anything about it
