Who knows what the future holds. The SEC West is only getting better. Bama had an incredible run, but I don't see any team in the West winning the conference year after year.
O has a system in place that is out in front of everyone at present, possibly even Saban.
But, it takes the right talent, health and the intangibles to stay at a high level.
The Character of this team (as studied by those on the inside) is on par with our other National Championship teams.
Realistically, I see LSU in the discussion at least for the next 3-4 years. By then, Aranda and Brady will be gone and the players on this team, even the younger guys, will be gone. Can O continue to find high talent and high character players and develop those guys with a new staff?
It is the same question that all coaches are asked. Saban has done it, Dabo has done it, but will they continue? Time will tell.

Serious answer, yes. LSU will no longer be an easy out for Nick Saban or Bama. Those days are over. O is recruiting at a national championship level before he had a natty. Now, that natty is going to open a lot of doors for him.

I read it and upvoted. I think he does keep LSU at a high level for as long as he's here. As long as he keeps bringing in top 5 recruiting classes we will stay competitive. That doesn't mean there won't be some 9-3 seasons in there though. This is still the SEC after all.

LSU Fans: Now what?
O was literally talking about getting on the phone to recruit for 2020 as soon as the game was over.
Now what?
We prep for 2020.

Recruiting has picked up.again. We are loaded with talent again.
We have the analysts in place. Two guys are under studies for Brady.
Yes Aranda will leave next year or the year after. Bill Busch will probably replace him
Yes Ensminger will retire in a couple of years. Brady will move up. Brady will get poached by the NFL in 2 to 4 years
Orgeron network will take care of all of that. The talent pipeline will keep LSU and Orgeron going for at least five and probably 10/12 years.
This is,back to 2003 to 2011 where LSU was mostly at a peer to peer level with Bama year after year. Depends on how many juniors leave as to where we are for 2020( we could be 9 and 3 or 12 and 0) 2021 is going to be very very good.
See you in November

Yes he can keep it up. With the talent we always have we will be primed to win more titles in the near future. This LSU program isn't going anywhere and isn't going to fall of. Mark my words. We will win another within A few years and will be competing for titles in the next couple for sure. This train is just getting going under O. Scary.

Honestly, I think we're looking at 10-3 next year. We're losing too much this offseason.
But in 2021, Brennan (whom we expect to be our QB the next 2 years) would be an experienced 5th year Senior and we should be completely reloaded and have several talented QB on the roster to keep this thing going.
So, to answer your question - I think from 2021 on we could see LSU go on a nice run. As long as we keep recruiting like we have been recently.

Serious question, can he keep this up for 5-10 years?
Can he go undefeated, break SEC records, and win every title and player accolade possible every year for the next decade?
Absolutely not.
He's willing to humble himself and hire people that can do stuff he doesn't know how to do. He can motivate his players and coaches to work together, and he does it as well as any coach in the country.

Serious question, can he keep this up for 5-10 years? It will be interesting to see as he loses Burrow and others and when his coaching staff starts getting poached. It’s not as easy as it looks for one year. Looks like he knows how to hire and delegate, which so many HCs don’t know how to do (Malzahn). Will be a fun 2020 season.
His ability to recruit will keep his teams talented and he seems very capable of hiring good coaches AND letting them do their job. Not every season will be 15-0 obviously but I think he will have his team in the CFP picture most years.

The best thing about him is that he seems to be good at learning from his mistakes. He obviously made a ton at Ole Miss and he doesn’t run LSU anything like that now. He made some early on here, such as making the Matt Canada hire too quickly, without knowing if they could work well together.
I thought O falling back on Steve Ensminger was weak. He trusts Steve, but there is a fact that can’t be ignored- he didn’t put a point on the board vs Bama in two tries at home before Brady was hired.
To both O and Steve’s credit, they figured out they couldn’t do it alone and brought in the right guy to fix it. O was also willing to throw the bank at Aranda to keep him from bolting to A&M. And now they will pay Brady.
Coach O learning to adapt and change gives me confidence that he can continue to make good hires as guys move on and keep winning over several years. I’m very happy to have been wrong about the man.

Uber-competitive 9 or 10-win seasons in the SECW with a natty run every 10 or so?
That last part is setting the bar too low. Should be every 4-5 years. Every class that comes through should win the SEC once. We did that from 2001 until now except for the stretch between 2011 and 2020. That was because Miles lost his way and got stubborn and reactionary. I don’t see O making that same mistake.

Come on, now. 2 of those scores were on the offense and that D obviously hasn’t been around since the OM game.

The only honest answer is that time will tell...and that right now, I'm just going to enjoy this season and worry about next season later.

Let me get my fricking magic 8 ball out and ask
Seriously, how would anyone know?
He manages to surround himself with the best of the best. As long as LSU has money to do that, I don’t see why he can’t maintain a certain level of success.

we will be expected to win some form of hardware little or small(SECW, SECCG, playoff game, natty) every 3 to 4 years now. miles could not do it anymore and was shitcanned. just win the west and it opens up everything else.
