You won’t take the ban bet which says it all. You’re scared.

Time is not on the player's side. They've got a 3 month window to play and it starts next weekend. By the time all of the appeals are done, they'll likely have missed all of fall camp and probably some of the season. Just makes more sense for teams to not worry about it.

These guys wouldn't contribute much even if they were eligible. They don't know the playbook or have any chemistry with the team.

I'm not scared of losing, LSU has lost a lot in my life. I'm sure Ole Miss has lost even more in yours.

I think pretty much everyone struggles against elite defenses on the road, Ole Miss was a pretty mediocre defense last year but perhaps they'll be better this year.

I'm not confident in winning or losing as I have no idea what the team will look like.

After a few years of watching him do this, trust me, it is no longer entertaining. It's obtuse and its autism.

Sad.

Of course it does, the courts cannot make schools take you or play you. If the SEC coaches/presidents/ads say we are not taking you, they don't have to. Period.

The players can still play, but as of right now it looks like G5 or bust.

Sankey has no power, either!!!

Well. The president of LSU voted unanimously with the other presidents to implement this rule.

The guy who is your coaches boss.

So you're saying your coach is gonna defy his boss to break a league rule? A league rule that the boss supports?

Let me know how that works out

Sankey has unfettered power under the bylaws to punish member schools. That’s why this works. He can use bylaws to punish schools. Players aren’t punished. They have no standing to sue the SEC. And even if they did have standing they wouldn’t get venue in Baton Rouge in front of Cletus J Fanboy

Sorsby and Tech immediately folded when the Big 12 mushroom stamped Tech with threats and a lawsuit under their bylaws. I’ve read and compared both sets of bylaws. The SECs bylaws are actually stronger and vest the commissioner with even more power.

Members who don’t like the application of the bylaws from this voluntary association can just leave the association. That’s their remedy. It isn’t a monopoly like the NCAA. So if LSU fan doesn’t like these rules, they can lobby their school to go independent or find another conference with different rules.

Good luck!

Elite defenses? Pete's defense finished 37th nationally in points per game and 48th in total yards per game last season.

Must not have read the new rules. The SEC won’t punish the players, they will punish the institutions and coaches that sign and play them. So by all means play them. But there will be consequences for it.
