He also acknowledged that he respects Lane and hates to play against Kiffin's offense.
I guess you missed the part about their frequent discussions about their dads.
Look, Lane has some awkward personality traits or social skills. However, for the most part he calls it like he see's it. His commentary on college football has been spot on since the transfer rules were obliterated and NIL became a reality.
As for as trolling, no one was a bigger troll than Spurrier in the days before social media. The old ball coach always spewed zingers, barbs and insults towards his opponents. He just had that "aw shucks" Tennessee hillbilly accent. I still despise him.

I've never heard Kirby say he didn't respect an opposing HC, Nor have I heard him say he loved playing against a coach's offense.
Kirby doesn't give the locker room material Lane does. Very much a Saban approach to that stuff.
He does talk a little smack after the game is done. But that's it.

The "aww, shucks, I'm just a football coach. Can you explain what troll means or how the interwebz works?" shtick is kind of old.
I do like the camaraderie between a handful of the upper tier coaches. Makes for better competition with friendship and healthy respect between them.

Kirby reminds me of Bobby Bowden personality wise the older he gets. He has his own way of trolling kinda folksy.
