Oxford, MS to Memphis - 1 hour 20 minutes

Who in their right mind would go over an hour out of their way to go to freaking Memphis?

Yeah, OP lost me on that. I would drive 1 hour to avoid Memphis.. like a shite-hole country now.

If I was an OM fan I would get more nervous every day that goes by without an announcement of a signed extension.

Is it still Mississippi state law that contracts can be no longer than four years?

It is, but the loophole is automatic rollover in contracts. It's a stupid law.

I don't understand why this has become such a topic of discussion this year?

Basically, MS coaches have a running 4 yr contract into perpetuity if both parties choose.

Yeah, that would be the common sense approach, but it is Kiffin.

He might have already signed the extension and Carter and Kiffin are just waiting to announce until after the Iron Bowl to turn this coaching search into the normal dysfunctional shitshow that is Auburn's norm.

If we make it to the egg bowl with no signed extension announced, you have to think he’s going to AU.

It's the guaranteed portion of the contract.

Look at Jimbo - 85 million buyout would only be 30 million a 4 year cap. A ten year 100 million is way better than a 4 year deal for 40 and its not even close.

This extension has a big buyout in it. If he doesn't sign he is seriously looking.

Side note why aren't there lake houses on the lakes around Oxford? It seems like they're totally undeveloped?

There aren't a lot of people in the immediate area? Its a rural area for the most part. I guess I could see people from Memphis metro maybe having a lake house there.

What's the water-quality like? Is there any topography?

The best lake-houses have views, and the water isn't murky or shallow.

I just looked up "sardis lake". LOL at wanting to compare the two. Lake Martin has multi-million dollar homes all over it. Sardis is a brown water shithole.

But congrats on it being bigger.

Sardis Lake blows and anyone claiming it is similar or better to Lake Martin is downright lying.

And we’re fine with that….because that would mean auburn is likely paying him top-5 money. Do you think he’s worth top 5 money?

I am confused. I thought y'all were paying him top 5 money?

He was already hovering at the top ten. Have numbers on the yet to be signed offer been leaked?

I don't think that's Lake Martin in Alabama.

It's Sardis Lake

I did take a scuba class at Auburn and they took us to Lake Martin and I found a $5 bill underwater

This is in the United States? How appalling. What otherwise is a beautiful scene is ruined by trash and litter. Why do people do this?
