It’s not about these players. Once something becomes possible, it never goes away and will expand. You just think it benefits LSU. It may. Lane Kiffin is a great offensive coach. My concern is on the future of college football and NIL/transfer portal have done enough damage on their own. Adding the possibility of NFL washouts returning to college will be another negative factor

I don't think it's just about these players at all, it isn't even about LSU, it's just another step toward the inevitable.
You just have to realize that college football, as you've known it, is done. Think about the arguments we're having here. Pro vs amateur, both groups have agents, both get paid, what is the actual difference anymore?

Yes because the weren't granted a 5th year like every other class was. Their class was singled out. I'm not sure why you can't understand that distinction.

If any other class tries to do this, I won't agree with it. This class deserved to be grandfathered in. The NCAA is a joke for this mess.

Bc the market for players pre-2021 was nowhere near the cost of facilities. Case in point, we were busted and state skated for each of us offering Leo Lewis 10 grand. That’s it! Multiply that over a roster, a bag here, a bag there, and you’re looking at maybe 500 grand, w the Cam Newton types getting 180.
That all changed, and former poors were all the sudden in the game for a relatively small amount of money. Of course that’s now ballooned in short order to what it is and I imagine it’ll collapse on itself in the next 5 years.

If Ole Miss had all of this money all along, why didn't you invest in your coaches and facilities?
You allege that the blue bloods were doing that AND paying players, yet they can't do either now.
How does Ole Miss suddenly have a larger football budget than blue bloods who have spent millions and millions on facilities and players and coaches for decades?

We hit about a 25 year black hole after going w the Kinard family after Vaught retired over Vaught’s choice for replacement, and it really wasn’t until Khayat became chancellor in the late 90s that we started seriously fundraising. Of course by then we were decades behind.

So if you're spending right along with the blue bloods, why did Kiffin leave for a school that isn't even a blue blood?
I'm not trashing Ole Miss, I'm just saying what you're saying doesn't add up to an outsider.
