Guys with guaranteed playing time up and quitting like that is probably an ego thing.

It's pussy shite. One thing happens that you maybe dislike, you are now allowed to just up and leave with no drawbacks.

FSU hit the portal hard last year and paid for it in their bowl. All their mercenaries stayed out.

Need regulation.

They were a freak QB injury away from being in the playoffs. A freak injury away from getting exactly what they wanted...

I think it is a NIL thing where Ole Miss in this case threw money bags at portal guys and did nothing for the guys already there and hence created a compensation problem.

This happens all the time in business but is probably new to the CFB programs.

I have no idea how that is relevant, but I've watched it closely to be sure.

Saban wants competitive balance but he's the first one saying that Bryce Young was getting a million dollars when NIL started.

Where was the competitive balance before NIL and portal?
Saban didn't have a problem with it at that point.
It was all about we can develop you better for the NFL when you have to sit behind 5 stars for two years.

He already agreed to a deal for next year then came back a month later and demanded more money which we agreed to. Last week he demanded another raise and we told him to kick rocks. He’ll be begging to come back if some idiotic team doesn’t blow their wad on a running back

Good lord save us from the well intended

What would you regulate? NIL is not and should not be pay to play, it allows players to sign endorsements. What are you wanting done exactly? Force the NFL to have an unprofitable minor league that can take kids that are 18 months removed from high school (giving them 2 seasons in college).

Even if you set up a commissioner and put up the infrastructure to have a 48-64 team league and had a salary cap NIL money would still be a thing. Even with oversight programs are still going to buy runs at a championship.

In trying to do something for the sake of doing something you just make the situation worse. Let the current system play out. The lack of a return on investment will slow this stuff down on its own given time. The market is self correcting as long as it isn’t artificially propped up.

Lmfao we got every major player to resign and paid them more. You don’t know shite. Judkins had ALREADY resigned before the peach bowl. We were paying him more than any other RB in the country. He came back and asked for more money AFTER he resigned and AFTER he was a complete cuunt in the locker room all season and an even bigger cuunt in the peach bowl.

We freed up money to go after any RB in the country we want for significantly less money.
It’s called roster management.

It’s ridiculous and will never build character in these young guys. Despite their notoriety and NIL money, they’re still 18-22 year old young men. They need guidance from mentors and programs that cultivate healthy maturity for life.

Judkins needed a kick in the arse to become a better person. Instead he remains a shithead and can go get more money because he carries a ball well.

The sad part about this situation is that a lot of three star players thought that it would be easy to just select the best offer.

Quite a few of these players are not going to get an offer and/or even be offered a scholarship from another school.

Once a player enters the portal the university that they are transferring from is no longer obligated to honor their original scholarship agreement, so some of these kids are going to be begging to get back into the college program that they left.

He will make less money in the Portal than Ole Miss was going to offer him.

We basically were sick of his antics and pulled any offers we had previously made.

He came in trying to bluff for more and we said buh bye.
