I’m really just inferring from what Sark said earlier this week. He said Texas will honor tOSU and Michigan (26,27) but anything after that is up for discussion. With the state of college football I assume he’ll push to cancel the series.

Maybe we should play in the "Sawed Reveille Legs Off" Bowl, 27-17. BTW, absolutely love the TAMU band, best I've seen. Hat tip to the Corps.

The Irish have a TV contract for home games with NBC. That kinda hamstrings them from joining a conference a bit. But after this snub they should rethink going forward, from a geographical standpoint they should fit into the Big Ten.
How tied in are they to the ACC deal? Lots of variables to ponder.

What is this, 1997? There is nothing unique about ND. Most major CFB programs recruit nationally now.

Also, frick Notre Dame.

Apparently ND has already thrown considerable weight around

quote:

Notre Dame has a special "backdoor" deal for the next CFP (starting 2026): if the Irish finish ranked in the Top 12, they are guaranteed a playoff spot, bypassing the typical selection committee process for at-large bids, a provision in a Memorandum of Understanding signed last spring with CFP officials, revealed after their recent snub. This ensures they avoid situations like 2025, where they were ranked 11th and missed out to a conference champion.

TX is new to the SEC. We'll see which way you trend in the future....towards challenging matchups (ND, Mich, OSU) or towards UTEP, UTSA, Rice, and Louisiana

The CFP indicated this year the value is UTEP, UTSA, Rice not ND, Mich, OSU...

ND deserves what they got. If their so-called national brand had any power to it, they probably would have been in. But they no longer have the clout or deserve it. Their arrogance brought them to this point.

Now they want to whine that they were left out and throw a tantrum by skipping a bowl. Today they called out the ACC and basically threaten them that their actions to promote ACC will hurt their future relationship with each other. The ACC needs to respond and say by to them and the rest of the P4 teams can say no more games until you join one of us. If not, ND can go play g6 teams be forgotten.

The SEC is never going to push ND to join a conference. If push came to shove, the Irish would likely join the Big 10, which would widen the financial gap between the leagues while simultaneously narrowing the ratings gap. It's not in the SEC's interest, so it's not going to make that push.

1 Texas plays all over and has plenty for OOC games.

2 just because and choose that path doesn’t mean anyone needs to cowtail to it. They can play in a conference and doesn’t have to schedule nationwide they easily could schedule around Indiana in the Midwest and recruit as such. There bs is a choice and they are not the brand they like to think they are as clear as viewership numbers factually state

Would have love to be a fly on the wall when their AD walked back into the playoff committee discussions after they talked about his school and he found out they were out.

The "Irish" haven't won a title in nearly 40 years. They are still a "national brand" because they've manipulated the schedule most of those years. NIL and Freeman's chops as a recruiter resurrected them.
They don't want to play in the SEC or Big1G because they're scared. Hell, they might be able to rescue the ACC (zero bids) from their future irrelevance.

Hell, why did I respond? I have zero f**ks to give.

Nobody will play ND anymore because OOC games get you punished. Even USC isn’t sold on keeping the rivalry going. I’m sure Purdue and Navy will be glad to continue maybe you can start a new rivalry with the North Dakota State Jackrabbits
