re: Jimbo is worse than Chizik. So, why is Jimbo given a pass unlike Chizik?

I for one don't think FSUs problems have anything to do with Jimbo, they made bad hires.

I do think TAMU thought they could buy a championship and it has not worked out to this point. I think something is up with Texas HS football as none of the teams from that state are performing where they should.

Fancy stadiums creat prima Donna's.

His issue to me has been clear for awhile. His offense is too complex and unless he has an elite QB it simply will not work.

If Jameis Winston and Jamarcus Russell can grasp his complex offense and be successful, I don't think that's his problem.

And that has nothing to do with how or why FSU turned into a complete dumpster fire from top to bottom.

The problems started with Jimbo and only got worse when he left. People forget they were 5-6 when he quit his last season there. And it really makes no sense how a program like that go to that point.

That's why almost 70% of the defensive players in the last two classes have been from out of state.

Harris - Florida
A. Johnson - Illinois
Doyle - Missouri
M. Jackson - Mississippi
Diggs - New Jersey
Cooper - Louisiana
George - Florida
Moten - Maryland
Raikes- New Jersey
Walker - Tennessee
Blades - California
White - Pennsylvania
Hunter - Florida
Brown - Alabama
A. Jones - Virginia
Lee - Florida
Russell - Tennessee

"Jimbo is 74-31 without Winston. For comparison's sake, that's basically the same record David Shaw has at Stanford excluding his first year with Andrew Luck (74-32). Meanwhile Chizik's record was 19-19 at Auburn without Cam. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison."

After 2 seasons and 1 game I feel confident in saying that he is the kind of coach who has a system that can win if he gets players who fit it but he is also the type who refuses to adjust his system and play calling to what his players can actually do well.

Mond could probably be better utilized if they would have him run the ball more but Jimbo dead set on turning him into a pocket passer that needs to make NFL style reads for everything to work.

Because Auburn wasn’t stupid enough to give Chizik $75,000,000 guaranteed.

Sure it does. The FSU admin refused to keep upgrading their facilities like all the other teams competing in the CFB arms race have realized is necessary if you want to win. That shite matters to recruits and once they fell behind it was much easier for everyone to pull away kids that normally would have gone to FSU. All it takes is losing out on 3 or 4 key guys for a couple of years to really hurt your program. Couple that with FSU losing their QB in the Bama game and A&M blatantly trying to lure him away during the season and they were bound to take a step back.

He drove Florida State’s entire program into the ground. I don’t get why people just overlook that, lol. He didn’t just have a bad season or two.

FSU went 14-0 in 2013 (NC), 13-1 in 2014, 10-3 in 2015 and 2016. The only bad season was 2017, after Alabama broke their asses in the opening game. They were #3 to start the season, finished at 7-6 (5-6 under Jimbo).

They should build a statue of the LSU AD that was smart enough to pass on him.

LSU’s current AD is who hired gave the contract to TAMU. He should get a statue for that alone.

This is exactly why many coaches get fired. The good coaches adjust their systems to the personnel they have.

Losing out on Deshaun Watson to Clemson was the beginning.

All your comment says to me is Jimbo needs a first round NFL draft pick QB to succeed. And, when he doesn't have that he's terrible.

I mean, I won't argue with that

Texas A&M fans actually believe Jimbo is a good coach.
Just let them keep thinking it.

I'm not sure about that. The team never seems prepared to me.

Good question here. Lincoln Riely, too.
Lincoln Riley has been a lot more successful than Gene Chizik, outside of one season.

ETA: Also, Gene Chizik’s record without Gus Malzahn as his OC is 8-28. Read that again.

Honestly you could feel the ground shaking in Tallahasee in 2014. I’m not saying you’d know the program was going to be a disaster 3 years later but the rift between Fisher and the FSU admin was apparent.

And Chizik never got cuckholded by a former rival player.
