Jimbo is worse than Chizik. So, why is Jimbo given a pass unlike Chizik?

Jimbo like Chizik rode a very good college QB to a national championship. But, FSU began to implode under Jimbo in the ACC with only one other contender. Chizik imploded in the stacked SEC having to play LSU, Bama, and UGA every year.

Good question here. Lincoln Riely, too.

Chizik would never succumb to the casting couch

Fisher?

Lincoln Riley is easily the most overrated coach currently

Jimbo at FSU was better than Chizik at Auburn... Jimbo developed a bunch of QBs that got drafted.

O = Cajun Chizik

Texas A&M fans actually believe Jimbo is a good coach.
Just let them keep thinking it.
Still can’t believe LSU fans and A&M fans had a spat over who was going to hire him.

They should build a statue of the LSU AD that was smart enough to pass on him.

He drove Florida State’s entire program into the ground. I don’t get why people just overlook that, lol. He didn’t just have a bad season or two.

O at LSU has also been better than Chizik at Auburn and both of his starting quarterbacks have been drafted.

Jimbo has one of the highest win percentages among active coaches. He recruits better as well.

His issue to me has been clear for awhile. His offense is too complex and unless he has an elite QB it simply will not work.

Chizik had a horrendous coaching record prior to Auburn.
Auburn fans didnt even want him.

Tbh, he was a better coordinator than coach but overall I still like Chizik because he is a really good guy and would make an excellent AD.

Jimbo is 74-31 without Winston. For comparison's sake, that's basically the same record David Shaw has at Stanford excluding his first year with Andrew Luck (74-32). Meanwhile Chizik's record was 19-19 at Auburn without Cam. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison.

Jimbo has yet to go winless in SEC play, so he already has that over Chizik.

A guy that played for Jimbo at LSU would disagree. Dwayne Bowe said Jimbo had no more than 30 plays at LSU but he used different formations for those plays.

And, the bulk of Jimbo's record came in the ACC while Chizik was in the toughest division in all of college football.

That was 2000-2003. His offense is not the same anymore.

In the 4 years prior to Fisher taking over at Florida State, 4 different teams won the ACC...none of them Florida State.

In the 4 years prior to Chizik, 3 teams won the SEC.

To be fair he had JaMarcus Russell as his QB so he didn't have much of a choice.

All your comment says to me is Jimbo needs a first round NFL draft pick QB to succeed. And, when he doesn't have that he's terrible.
