I like the way Jimbo turned the tables on the reporter and put him on the spot asking if he'd done any actual research on the topic. He looked him right in the eye and asked it he'd done any research other than what he'd read on social media. LOL That caught the guy completely off guard.
I'd also like to know who the folks in the background where that Jimbo had to wave off and tell "I'll take care of this!"

One of 2 things is likely to happen here.
1. NIL is allowed to continue the way A&M did it last year, everyone starts doing it, and schools like A&M find themselves back in the middle again.
2. Schools like A&M who used NIL to recruit will get heavily penalized and it will prevent schools from doing it A&M finds themselves back in the middle again...eventually.
Even with A&M taking advantages that other people did not take advantage of, they still barely had the #1 class, and their average was not the highest.

Sankey has already said most of what they see are not legit NIL deals, but are instead straight pay to play offers.
You know why he see's these? Because every NIL has to be approved.
So when Jimbo says "only 1 recruit has an NIL deal", he is probably telling the truth. The other 10 are probably having trouble getting theirs approved, so he can honestly say they do not have NIL deals even if they were used for recruiting.

Alabama didn't even start a collective until like 2 or 3 months ago, so that is obviously not the case.
Only 25 players @ Alabama have NIL deals, and they are all legit ones from existing players, not players who were recruited.
