That's why I asked the question.

Can NIL collectives become involved in negotiations with prospect or a prospects agent, family member before that prospect enrolls at a school?

Does that become a bidding war amongst schools and is the prospect or his agent looking for the best offer before the recruit every signs an LOI? The NCAA needs to lay this stuff out clearly and should've done it a year ago.

The existing rules already cover this and the answer is no, they can't do that.

It's exactly the same thing as a booster offering money under the table to a recruit. Nothing changed about that with the NIL. The Supreme court ruling only said players can make money off NIL, it did not say the schools themselves(boosters are considered part of the schools) must be allowed to pay them.

So while the NCAA can't legally put a stop to players getting NIL deals, they can police the schools/boosters when it comes to giving them.

The NCAA did put out clarification of this a month ago.

Well, give us your take? Do you believe Jimbo is lying and paid for all his players. Don't come back and tell us most. Saban said all.

In case you are not familiar with the IRS and their reach they do not need the NCAA's permission.

My guess they are already looking into all the collectives at each school. The NLRB is already trying to classify these athletes as employees since NIL went legal and you can bet the IRS is looking into everything.

But since these collectives are normally run by people with money I assume they were smart enough to not leave a paper trail that would indict them or foolish enough not to protect them from oversight.

There is plenty of information about secret NIL deals that weren’t approved? Where?

So now what is your point? - you’re saying “rejected NIL” deals equals cheating?

Even though NIL deals are only happening with kids already on campus?

Geez, what’s next?

I mean…. The X-files had less convoluted innuendo than this…

Yes, it equals cheating. It's the exact same thing as when Alabama got in trouble for Albert Means. Boosters can not contact recruits and make them offers, PERIOD.

When the SEC commish comes out and says directly the majority of what they have seen with NIL isn't really NIL, it's directly pay to play schemes, it's pretty obvious what is going on.

Now it's certainly within the realm of possibility that A&M hasn't had any NILs rejected, we don't know for sure. But if Vegas was putting odds on this shite, I doubt they'd be getting many bets on A&M.

IMO, A&M should have feigned ignorance, cooperated to the fullest extent and done their best to show compliance while demonstrating institutional control. Especially since Jimbo was recently hit with a show cause for not promoting an atmosphere of compliance due to him purposely ignoring rules, which will only feed into this and make any outcome much worse.

So Jimbo and A&M fans are mad about the number of times they are being accused of cheating, not that they are being called out for cheating?

You might want to research what the IRS does and does not do. Especially before making yourself look like what you are calling others.

Remember collectives are entities whether for profit or not that fall under the jurisdiction of the IRS. Also all NIL earning has to be reported to the IRS as well.

So again use google next time.

Sankey was so vague we have no idea what school or who he was talking about.

Boosters contacting recruits directly and making them offers - surely would result in violations. Right now, we haven’t seen anything about that. I’m all for facts. Let’s see it.

Lastly, I disagree. Since Jimbo responded to Saban’s allegations, Saban walked back his comments.

What is being alleged changes on a daily basis.

Yeah, it's called PR. Saban just didn't mean to make it personal, he did not back out on the issue itself or how he feels about it. In the end, he is looking for action on the rules themselves for the future.

Been exactly the same for the past 6 months as far as I can tell. What has changed? Saban didn't say anything people didn't already know.

The more Dumbo talks the guiltier he looks. So one guy has an NIL. Big Deal! How many were promised NIL before signing and will get those deals once all the drama dies down. The only problem for A&M is this issue is not going away. Everyone knows what happened and want to make sure it doesn’t happen again. It’s gonna take pressure to make sure it doesn’t. The NCAA and SEC can do things to control these things and they need to get it done.

A lot has changed. First it was A&M paid for their entire class

Which was described to mean NIL violations - payments to recruits agreed to prior to signing

Then it was Not NIL violations - No, it was bag men handing out cash to recruits directly

Then it was Discovered that there is only 1 player in the current class of with an NIL deal, so it became the issue with NIL deals that were rejected…

Who the hell keeps putting him in front of the camera? Ross Bjork? aTm's president? Good Lord!

They call an emergency presser where Jimbo's sweating like a pig and all over the place rambling. Then they have him do a 2 part sit down interview with a reporter who Jimbo literally called to the carpet when he asked if the reporter had actually done an ounce of research other than what he'd read on social media. WTH?

Give Sankey a couple of months. He's on the NCAA's Transformation Committee and he recently visited DC to plead for legislators assistance from the fed's. The NCAA members have been tasked with enacting a new set of rules and regulations by August 1st.

In the meantime, keep Jimbo chilled on ice and off cameras.

No, I told A&M fans months ago this is exactly what would happen. You guys keep denying, things keep happening as I said.

Not too long ago A&M fans were claiming nobody was investigating, and then saying the NCAA wouldn't be able to find out about them. I told them all then, every NIL deal has to be approved by the NCAA, so when you apply for approval, you are basically reporting it yourself.

If you want to say the way Texas A&M fans have been acting towards this is constantly changing, then yeah I agree. Hell, one day you guys are out there taunting people claiming they are poor and there is nothing people can do, the next day you're on here claiming nothing happened. And I don't remember any A&M fans denying it until they realized they could get in trouble for it.

But as for everything else, nothing has changed since the start.

Jimbo is correct that only 1 of the 11 have NIL deals.

The other 10 just got cash the old fashioned way. Learned it from his previous boss
