I love going to the Delta for ducks in late November/early December. Flat as a pancake and empty row crop fields for miles in every direction. It's like West Texas, with water. Deep South accents, and great food.
Quite a contrast from the Ozarks.

Except for the Ouachitas, Mount Magazine, Mt. Nebo (maybe the best mountain biking outside the far west). Hot Springs, etc...
Most of Texas is flat, sweltering prairie, or empty desert. The best part of Texas (Hill Country) is like a mediocre version of the Ozarks.
