I don't think he was all that involved prior to the federal suit. Now he likely will be. I don't particularly care for him, but I'll be damned if he doesn't get shite done. Just don't ask how.

My definition is anyone that goes through the draft process. Think about it strictly from a logistics standpoint. You idiots down in Louisiana want a player to have the right to come back after months trying to obtain an NFL job. Meanwhile, the coach has a spot to fill and cannot wait on said player to make up their mind.

But in the event you cannot fill a spot like a normal coach would, you have the right to pull from some NFL rejects to do so. In what world does that make sense?

how does that work in the MLB draft?

and nobody cares what your definition is

1) because these kids didnt have a choice. they didnt declare, they ran out of eligibility and were auto entered into the draft

2) the 5 for 5 wasnt released until after the CWS after all sports had ended, after mini camps etc

3) once that was released players from the 2022 class started filing lawsuits

this is only an issue for this one year

its real simple, either the SEC says they will abide by TROs or all TROs are void....yes that includes Trinidad.

Easy answer. LSU declines to roster the players in question (who aren't exactly difference makers), and everyone goes back to business as usual.

And break the law?

I guess you should take that up with all the lawyers that have continually stated this is the case.

You keep repeating this like it actually means something.

The lawsuit will be tossed or dropped.

If LSU does not follow the SEC rules, they will be sanctioned.

There needs to be a clear definition of the rule. Sankey and his team fumbled this in the hearing. They couldn't define a professional.

The rule is no professional. Great, I agree. Define a professional in today's world. If you declare for the draft, that make's you a pro? Mini-camp make's you a pro? Training Camp? Euro League basketball, G-league?

We're living in this grey area that I think needs some guard rails.

That would be easier.

LSU breaking the law handed down from the LSU judge has less chance of ending in mushroom clouds…

LSU launched a campaign to completely change the rules on who is eligible against the entire conference.

Tell me about this campaign.

Exactly. Just like no one cares what Sankey “believes” is a contract. Their rules state “a contract”, but they've already allowed several players who’ve signed “a contract” to return to the conference.

It isn't going to be dropped. Do you think the other 15 members are just going to change their stance and issue LSU a hall pass? Not likely. Start with boycotts. And if that doesn't take care of it, expel the trouble makers.

exactly

again I hate all this shite, think its a big distraction, think it hurts LSU brand

but frick sanky and the sec...this shite is all because of them and selective enforcement, same with NCAA

NCAA could have gotten the rule done when they first started talking about it in Oct of last year and included the 2022 class and all this shite would be a mute point....but nope

and Sanky.....jesus christ he was terrible yesterday...i dont think the fans of other schools understand how bad it was, forget LSU...just in general. he needs to go and I been a fan of his until then.

The easiest, BY FAR, is SEC drops their lawsuit, these players play under TRO like Chambliss, the NCAA and conferences change the threshold for pro to "you must withdraw your name from the draft ahead of deadline" going forward, and we all move on and this is never an issue again.

Again, I can sue you for being a needle dicked chucklehead. Doesn’t mean anything.

The case the SEC filed will be tossed out, or laughed out of the building in a trial.

If the SEC loses the case, then conferences will basically cease to exist because they will have lost all autonmony.

It will be a wild west of free agency without any real rules.
