Bama has made it cleared they will only pay so much and are more focused on recruiting under the radar players. We overrate 5 stars too much.

You have to remember how many people here were certain Alabama was doomed when Saban retired. They said 6 and 8 win seasons were going to be the future. Last year’s 11 win season derailed their dream. They are lashing out. Angry. Hurt.

Well no one is, the game has completely changed, with nil and transfer portal you can’t afford to. Most everyone has adopted an NFL model of what each position should cost you year to year. It’s not cost effective to pay back ups starter money.

Alabama is 20-8 since then. Half of those losses have been to unranked teams. We just saw Alabama get blown out in 2 of its final 3 games of the season and then extend their coach and give him a raise for that performance.
That's a pretty big drop off from semifinal appearances every year and natties every other year or so.
