re: By the year 2040

Once upon a time in a land where feathered footballs floated in the air, a team of cats donned their tiny jerseys, ready to show off their skills. Whiskers, the star forward, dribbled the ball with an impressive combination of pounces and playful swats, while Mittens, the goalie, lounged in front of the net, only occasionally waking up to swat at the ball as if it were a pesky fly. The other cats cheered, their tails swishing like pom-poms, as Fluffy the defender flopped dramatically on the pitch every time an opponent got too close, claiming, "Oh dear, I must not be disturbed during my nap!" Amidst the chaos, the football rolled away, leading to a catnap frenzy, where all players forgot the game and instead engaged in an epic cuddle puddle right in the middle of the field.

Actually pretty funny. The downvotes are from butt-hurt LSU fans.

Perhaps you're in Japan. But here in the United States of America, it's still December 24.
Oklahoma has 14 conference championships since 2002

How many would Oklahoma have had they been in the SEC during that time span?

If Tulane or JMU win a playoff game, it'll be that much harder to get rid of "inclusion teams".
Tulane and JMU do not belong in the CFP

Imagine if the games this weekend involved ND@Ole Miss and Texas or Vandy @ Oregon. We're missing out on some epic matches. Why?

If Alabama simply plays mistake free football, we'll easily win. Oklahoma just doesn't have the players or the coaching to keep up with us.

If Arch entered the portal, who would want him? Perhaps a team looking for a backup QB.
re: SEC teams that have made the playoffs this decade
Posted by Simple Solution on 12/15/25 at 8:27 am to cattus
Technically, due to the absence of a "Year Zero," a true decade starts with a year ending in 1 (e.g., 1991-2000) and runs to the end of the year ending in 0.
No, I did not leave one off

SEC teams that have made the playoffs this decade

Alabama
Georgia
Ole Miss
Oklahoma
Tennessee
Texas
Texas A&M
The Big 7
Also, for all the idiots who think the decade started in 2020:
Technical/Calendar View (1-0)
How it works: Years are counted from Year 1 CE, so a decade is 10 years from a year ending in 1 to the next year ending in 0 (e.g., 1991-2000).
When it starts: January 1st of the year ending in 1 (e.g., January 1, 2021, for the 202nd decade).
Why: Because there was no Year 0; the first year was 1, so the first decade was 1-10.

Notre Dame didn't even belong in the playoffs last year

ND lost to N Illinois and played no one with a pulse. Meanwhile Alabama played USF, at Wisconsin, and the SEC gauntlet. We were left out with just 3 losses. ND complaining about not getting in this year with that cupcake schedule is hilarious.

re: Why are Georgia folks so mad, bitter and vindictive of Alabama's football team?

Because they think that winning an insignificant game means anything. Alabama is still in the playoffs.

That's evidence that Alabama wasn't even trying to win. We knew we were in the playoffs anyway.

We saw what happened when both teams were healthy back in September. Alabama won. If the SECCG were played earlier in the season, Alabama would be the SEC Champions.
