6 million a year, rest in an insurance policy .

Winning a Championship means something.

Something an Aggie will never realize.

Actually he isn’t like Chiz at all. Ed inherited a mess. Brought in his staff and players. He brought in Burrow when Burrow didn’t make it at Ohio State. Burrow wasn’t a hot commodity then. Went 15-0. Sure, the offense will take a step back next year. But I believe O can sustain success there.

Maybe you're right, or maybe you're not. What I am sure of is this: There is enough uncertainty about Ed that it makes it insane to lock in over 7 million per year for 6 years.

And it's hilarious that LSU is doing this after all the grief they gave A&M about Jimbo just 2 years ago.

Absolutely. O can recruit well. He knows how to bring in the right staff. I don’t see LSU falling out of the top 3 (at least) in the sec any time soon.

We handcuffed ourselves to a proven commodity - a guy who had won year after year after year, calling his own plays, leading multiple great offenses.

You handcuffed yourself to a guy who might well prove to be a mirage.

That's a pretty major difference, chief.

You do realize Jimbo's gone 22-15 in the last three years right? 17-9 at aTm...for $7.5 million?

6+ incentives for 6 years for a HC who just won an NC at your school

Maybe a better contract than guaranteed 75 million for 10 years no offset for a coach that just had a losing season and let the ACC slip away.

Asking because it is going to be GLORIOUS when LSU realizes they just handcuffed themselves to Chizik 2.0 for 6 years.

in 7 years the euphoria from 2019 MIGHT be starting to ware off.

You handcuffed yourselves to a guy who has the same amount of National Championships as O. You also handcuffed yourself to a guy that is stubborn and wants full control and will do it his way and who’s offense has digressed since his 2013 Natty. Also a guy who has not done better than 4 loss seasons in this conference. O has gone through this conference this year undefeated. Now go ahead and wine about your tough schedule and make all of the excuses and look at LSU’s schedule over the last 2 years and come talk to me

He did and worked hard for the success of LSU this season. We won't win a title every season and having the benchmark of college football in the same division makes it tougher. That said, O is proactive making necessary changes. Where as Chiz he just couldn't recruit at the same level nor was he as proactive at making changes.

How can we not trust O? He just re wrote college football. He just grabbed every piece of hardware imaginable. The dude has 100% earned our trust.

To compare O to Aggy ponying up 75 million only to lose 50-7 in year 2 to O is............

aggies are all about "what if's " and "next year" because that is all they have/will have. Coach O has won, THIS year, a N.C. A SEC championship. A Western Division championship. A National Semi Final game. 4 National Coach of the Year awards, 2 voted on by his peers, beat 7 top 10 teams, beat teams ranked 1-2-3-4 in preseason polls, neither ever done before. Not an "what if" or "next year". Dream all you want, you cann't wipe out the actual facts of what Coach O has accomplished. Flash in the pan": check out his SEC winning percentage in the SEC the past 2 years. etc etc etc

7m/year for 6 years is totally commensurate with what he just did. A 15-0 natty season with possibly the greatest team of all time.

Aggie paid 7.5m/year for 10 years to go 7-5.

Who is handcuffed in this fact pattern?

Spot the difference:

1. One coach just had the best season of all time. Get 7/yr

2. One was unranked. Gets 7/yr

We gave our coach money after he had the best season in college football history and won a national championship

You guys gave your coach all that money after he went 5-6 at FSU and left them in the worst shape they have been in the past 40+ years.

Um, it's 6 mil per year with a bonus structure to get to 7 in a championship run. He only makes 7 if he wins the Natty.

Jimbo makes 7.5 to win 7 games. Good value.

We do know deep down Aggy would give their soul for 3 NC's this century. 3. Aggy doesn't even have an SEC west title to crow about.

Cat Spring huh ? I know many, many people in Cat Spring. We should meet for a burger at Crossroads. I wouldn't rub in too hard.
