He did and worked hard for the success of LSU this season. We won't win a title every season and having the benchmark of college football in the same division makes it tougher. That said, O is proactive making necessary changes. Where as Chiz he just couldn't recruit at the same level nor was he as proactive at making changes.
Good post. I agree. Gene never learned how to be a head coach. He’s a good DC but just never learned how to build and sustain. O has learned how to be a HC. He dies great bin recruiting and knows to hire staff and delegate responsibilities. Ed will do fine at LSU. He will be in the mix for the SEC and national championship regularly.

Long as Ed's bringing in top 5 recruiting classes they'll be fine.
May possibly see a slight drop off of 2 or 3 losses this upcoming season but they'll be back in the title discussion for 2021 season.

IMO, this is the single hardest thing to do for coaches. His time at Ole Miss retrospectively was the best thing that ever happened to him.

didn't see this one, but my post in the other thread...
LOL. And LSU fans laughed at A&M for similar money.
For those keeping score, they each have a national title, and are 1-1 head to head as head coaches, but Jimbo Fisher's career record is 100-32, which is a winning pct of more than 75%. Orgeron is 56-36, which is winning pct of about 60%.

hard to sum it up better than this.
O is an elite recruiter that learned to get out of his own way and be the CEO of a team. What you have there is potential for great success considering the program and talent in Texas and Louisiana.
Ed will always have the recruits, he just finally learned how to handle the other part of the being a CEO.

no. Like Chizik he just caught lightning in a bottle with a one and done wonder boy offensive coach, and a quarterback that had a single great year. Well, actually Cam Newton was all american at the junior college, but that aside.

Like it or not, all of it is fact.

Oh I forgot they tied to claim a 2 more national titles to impress us when they moved over. Literally 85 and 93 years after the fact. Most Gay&M shite ever
One of the most embarrassing, desperate and pathetic things they have ever done. And think about it... that says a lot for them.
They would give anything to be LSU or Texas or basically any of the other 50 something power 5 teams that have accomplished what they are clearly incapable of

LOL, LSU paying coach O 7 million a year.

And it's hilarious that LSU is doing this after all the grief they gave A&M about Jimbo just 2 years ago.
A&M paid a coach $75 million for bringing a National Title to a different school.
LSU paid O for bringing a National Title TO THE SCHOOL.
HUGHe difference pal.

I think it was a realization that hiring a coach that did well at another school is the closest they will get to doing well themselves.
Exhibit A

You do realize Jimbo's gone 22-15 in the last three years right? 17-9 at aTm...for $7.5 million?
No Worries here! Next year U has already added 15-0 to make jimbo's win total look so much better. So in A&M's head the man is approaching 40 wins

So what? LSU is the current National Champs, not aTm
Coach O's contract is loaded with incentives. He earned close to $1.5 million this season from incentives. 15-0 and National Champs. Eat your heart out, gump.

That's a pretty major difference, chief.
Jesus, dude. This may have made sense if O didn’t just lead LSU to arguably the greatest college football season of all time.
You people are somethin’ else proven wrong time and time again, yet those heels just dig deeper and deeper

I don't know what's funnier:
aTm fan trying to talk shite about contracts.
or
aTm fan still desperately trying to talk shite about the reigning national champion head coach.
