Don't forget that Alabama did that also. Bear Bryant got a congratulatory letter for winning Alabama's first National Championship. Suddenly in the 80's, the SID decided they won more, including that horrendous 1941 year.

Brought in his staff and players.
AU staff heldover from 2008-2009
DB Phillip Lolley (formerly off-field NFL liason)
LSU staff heldover from 2016-2017:
HC Ed Orgeron (formerly DL)
DC Dave Aranda
DB Cory Raymond
OLB Dennis Johnson (formerly GA)
OL Jeff Grimes
TE Steve Ensminger
So it appears that Ed inherited a solid program that routinely competed for the SEC West, was loaded with top talent, and kept the core of the existing coaching staff (of which he had been a part). Chiz took over a program in full-on collapse, had a serious talent deficit compared to the upper echelon of the SEC, and brought in an entirely new set of assistants.
I like Orgeron, and I think he will certainly perform better than Chiz did. But to suggest that they arrived when their respective programs were in a similar condition is ludicrous.

Okay okay, you're right. LSU's program is superior to Auburn's in every way.

How do the records look for the last 2 years (since that's how long Jimbo has been in the SEC)?
Last 2 years:
Ed O: 25-3 - .893 winning pct.
Jimbo: 17-9 - .654 winning pct.

Agreed. Auburn is definitely inferior to LSU.

Literally just won titles in the toughest division and conference in America plus the whole national title thing. Sorry Jimbo sucks arse

Congrats on your success. It's really gratifying to see a guy like Eaux, who battled his way up from the bottom rungs of the profession, to be rewarded for his hard work - especially with so many detractors on his own side when he was hired.
LSU's football future with Eaux is very bright. I hope one day that AU's will provide reason for such justifiable optimism.

At least LSU made him prove himself first, and gave a contract with a reasonable time frame.
Aggie guaranteed 7.5 mil for 10 fricking years without even seeing if the guy can win at A&M. And coaching tenures average way less than 10 years at any given program. What y’all did was retarded

Jimbo average about 4 losses in every season he coached without Winston at QB

The problem with Jimbo's contract was when he got it. Had he been offered a 10 year mega-deal a year or so after he won a national title, I don't think anyone would have thought it to be insane. But the fact that he had performed progressively worse (his last season at 5-6 when he left) made a lot of people wonder why the hell A&M would do that. Also, the length of his contract is the worst part about it.

Our commitment was to a coach that has already won a National Championship FOR LSU. GOAT season on top of that.
Your commitment was to a coach that won a National Championship for Florida State.
We're good. Aggie should go worry about bringing that 1939 championship team back on campus for the 90th anniversary celebration.

If LSU locks up Ed O after winning Natty and putting together an amazing staff that had one of the best seasons ever then they handcuffed themselves with a Larry Coker or Gene Chizik
Then some tell you why couldn’t they pay him more???
We all know that if LSU refuses to pay O and he left for another school then LSU would be hearing about how they are completely done and their entire coaching staff is gone.
Just shut up everyone and go ahead and proclaim your offseason championship for the next 9 months. September will come around soon enough
