Saban took over a Bama program in shambles.

DeBoer took over the most talented team in the country and has lost 8 games in two years.

There is no comparison.

No. DeBoer was exposed last night as an average coach when he stood on the sidelines across from a guy who coached similarly to Saban.

He has the most talent he will ever have at Alabama right now.

I get the argument, but there are concerns there. The lack of a running game is a big one.

Totally different situations. This isn't apples and oranges, it's apples and orangutangs.

Doubtful but I could see Indiana doing it.

He’s recruiting high level, and the players like him. His problem is a lack of physicality with the team. That’s why Bama couldn’t run the football all year. Yesterday was as ugly as it gets, as we got straight up bullied on both sides of the los. If this isn’t addressed in the offseason, he’s toast.

Physicality is rarely something that is “addressed”. Coaches/programs either have it or they do not.

This is just false as far as the RB room, QB, O Line, D Line goes.

Granted it’s partially his fault we had such an overall shitty collection of players at those positions and he refused to try out other players.

Saban took over a mess at Alabama and had them undefeated going into the SECCG by year 2.

DeBoer was handed the keys to a Ferrari and ran it into the ditch

It comes from motivation. DeBoer doesn’t strike me as a good motivator

There are two ways to get players to play hard and physical.

1. You light into their arse
2. You have the ability to speak in such a way players will run through a wall for you.

I don’t get the vibe from DeBoer that he does that. I think he is too nice. Nice coaches don’t succeed in the SEC

I have this same opinion as well. Generally speaking for people, by age 24, you either have it or you don't. There is no "developing toughness" passed a certain phase.

I don't think they succeed in any division or league of sports.

I’m not in anyway implying that will happen, but it is mind blowing how close those stats are against common opponents.

Our offensive line is a mess because the type of lineman DeBoer likes isn't like the ones Saban liked. DeBoer is more of an air raid coach, but a little different.

We are never going to be a power running team. He's going to use short passes as an extension of the running game, and he wants athletic lineman who can pull and block in space, and get downfield to block. It's not zone/gap blocking like we would have traditionally.

So far he's had a total of 1 recruiting class, and tasked with filling in spots lost in the transfer portal after Saban retired. He's recruiting well, so hopefully we are getting the type of players he needs.

After looking at Indiana, I think maybe he should have brought in more higher class lineman that fit his scheme, but I'm sure that would have went over like a fart in church. People getting upset about bringing in someone to play over them, fan bases upset about taking in lower talent, etc. I hope Indiana changes the dynamics of things with what they are doing.

We saw some things this year that you can keep expecting to see. All the motions and stuff pre-snap.

What we lacked this year was the vertical passing part. Likely also due to the offensive line not giving enough time, and Ty Simpson not being the type of QB he would recruit. That left us attacking the short side of the field constantly, allowing defenses to cheat up and make us one dimensional. It's a hell of a lot easier to play defense when you don't have to defend the entire field.

If people can't be happy with being in the top10, they are going to be in for a hell of a hard time. All I ever expected from Saban was a single national championship, it's unrealistic to think another coach is going to do that.

Someone needs to sit his arse down about going for it on 4th down from your own territory in the 2nd quarter. That shite was bad.
