Saw my first game on television today. The Savannah Bananas were playing the Indiana Clowns. I thought it was quite entertaining. I would call it the white man's answer to the Harlem Globetrotters.

You think college baseball talk should be restricted to the more sports board? That won’t be well received here.

It’s a fun night out with kids.

Give them a 50 game home schedule & I’d bet their average attendance wouldn’t be in the top half of the SEC

The very young baseball players love it. Say less than 12 years old. i have six grandsons in that age group and all but one have their uniforms and watch it constantly.

So what???
By that logic its more popular then the Miami Marlins and a few other mlb teams
Im sure if you look at the numbers bro country is more popular then George Strait but who is better???
Just because you were or are packaged to the masses dosent make you better.
Also the appeal is from 4 to 16 kids and for the most part theses kids need parents to go with them.
So a ticket that could sell for 2 is now 4 that is fantastic business model.
It's has its place like a carnival or fair.
Now people who take kids is cool if you go w/ out children

Hell I watched last nights game and it was boring on tv. The only cool part was when Adam Dunn came in to bat.

The trick plays caused more errors than excitement.

I saw the Globetrotters once and that was all I needed. I watch probably 75+ college baseball games probably every year.

It is a novelty game.

It’s not really baseball, it’s a baseball themed spectacle designed to entertain people who don’t like actual baseball.

No, see tv viewership.

If you had a clue you would understand that in person crowds are not the main driver for revenue. Cool they sell out stadiums but what kind of viewership do the televised games get?

Banana ball is interesting in person. It keeps the crowd engaged but after going to one banana game I won’t have to go to another and I’ll never watch it on tv. Banana ball is made for in person viewing. Tv doesn’t work at all.

The problem with college baseball is that its stars dont always translate to the MLB and when they do it takes years.

This leaves a major disconnect from the two sports.
