A&M fans in here are ridiculous. IT owned their arse forever so they want to avoid it. I think they would whoop up on Texas yearly. Don’t know why they are so hesitant

Look at the last 40 years of the rivalry, i.e., when it wasn’t a case of the largest program in the largest football state playing what was effectively The Citadel.

I don’t mind playing them again. But not with B12 refs. Had enough of that

I'd like to see it played again for the sake of football fans in Texas. All the talk of "it benefits them more than us" completely misses the point in my opinion and is frankly a chickenshit way of looking at it (both sides).

But I don't think it will happen before an icebreaker bowl game.

Joining the SEC: I'm pretty sure that all but a few rantards see what a horrible idea this would be and it just won't happen. Ever. And Mizzou and Nebraska sure as hell aren't going back; they left specifically because of texas.

It seems like if Texas would admit that DeLoss Dodds was an arse when he said "we get to decide" that Aggy would come back to the table. Maybe I am wrong, but I know that would never happen. Do those arrogant assholes ever admit anything?

I mean, my Nebraska friends showed me THIS video and I nearly puked:
Texas Arrogance

"Texas will be way, way ahead of those numbers", and the dumb bastard didn't see a problem with that. That's how it SHOULD be, right? Because "We're Texas".

I'm glad he's gone. That MAY allow the game to come back eventually. We'll see.

I don’t believe that tu is genuinely interested in renewing the series. They offered to play us in 22/23 when we already have a home and home with Miami. In fact, they wanted us to cancel the Miami game, or play us the week after. So those years we would have had two P5 OOC games in September before starting SEC play. They offered this know what we’d say. We were open 6 years later, but they had no interest to looking at those dates. So they basically offered 22/23 knowing we’d decline.

If tu was truly interested in renewing the series, it would renew ASAP on Thanksgiving. The SEC has set up the schedules of A&M/LSU and Arkansas/Missouri to easily accommodate the renewals of A&M/tu and Missouri//Kansas, by simply putting LSU/Arkansas back in that weekend. The SEC has done everything it could have to accommodate the renewal of these games.

With that being said, I wanted the series to continue OOC when we joined the SEC. now I simply don’t care, and I don’t really miss playing them. I think as time goes on peiple will care less and less about renewing it.

I've said this before but from an outsider's perspective it seems like A&M does much more damage to Texas by not playing them at all. Texas is in the unenviable place of having to rely on A&M to gain relevancy in the state. Why on earth would A&M want to willingly grant that to them. If I was A&M, I'd tell Texas to go pound sand.

Texas trying to gain relevancy in state through a&m? UT still has the highest fan base in state. Even a&m fans will admit that. . You just keep that outsiders perspective. UT just played in conference championship in Texas. Safe to say they are relevant in there own state. Most Texans want the game back hence why lawmakers and governor Abbott got involved.

There is absolutely no reason why this series can't be played.

Notice that the SEC East schools are able to play their instate ACC rivals every year with no issues (excluding Missouri b/c they're scared, too).

Texas is a ranked 4 loss team...they own A&M like the whole big 12 did. A&M might actually fill their stadium though if they play....they always have seats showing.

Yes, I will admit that.

Some of them even remember to turn on their tvs to watch the games.
