I’d leave just so I don’t have to deal with the clusterfrick of traffic in DFW area.

Fort Worth isn’t Dallas.
The area around TCU—and most of the city—is fantastic.
Apart from game situations, traffic isn’t an issue around FW.

It's in the bag. Done deal. Now laughing at those that said State couldn't have even gotten Auburn or KY's coach if we wanted them.

Now our men's bball was last at UCLA. Our football coach was at Penn St. Our baseball coach was at TCU. And our wbb coach was at aTm. Now some will say yea but they wanted their own gig so they'd have gone anywhere. We'll they were all good enough that if they didn't already have other options then they would soon. But they chose to come Mississippi State. That proves that Starkville and MSU isn't the bassackwards place a lot of you claim it is just to try and make yourself feel better.

Now our men's bball was last at UCLA. - fired
Our football coach was at Penn St. - coordinator
Our baseball coach was at TCU. - hasn't happened yet
And our wbb coach was at aTm. - assistant (but ended up a great hire)

I understand all the knocks on Starkville when compared to DFW. But let’s be honest, the guy is a baseball coach. He probably doesn’t give a rats arse about much outside of baseball. When you compare these two jobs, it’s fairly obvious which is the better gig. Better conference, better stadium, better fan support, better scholarship structure, better buyin with AD.

Not baseball. And it's not even close.

What conference is better than the SEC in college baseball currently?

There isn't one. The ACC isn't bad. The Big 12 is okay, but they don't support it. The Pac has some quality, but be real. We just got 10/14 teams in and have something like 7 of the top 10 teams in attendance.

The advantage isn't as great at TCU as it is at other private institutions.

The Pac-10/12 will always be the preeminent conference for baseball. Just like Alabama will always be the preeminent program in football.

They more than double the SEC in national titles. 28 to the SEC's 12. Hell, you've even got off-brand schools like Cal State Fullerton winning more national championships than teams like South Carolina (CSUF's 4 to USC's 2).

Sunny and 75 degrees every day does wonders for spring ball.

Most rational comment I’ve seen yet from a State fan.

The defensive stuff from a large portion of the MSU fanbase has had me scratchin’ my head (e.g., “there’s more to do in DFW and Houston than there is to do in College Station,” as if that’s some sort of insult ).
There’s more to do in DFW/Houston than there is to do in any SEC town.
Bottom line: Most coaches will go to the place where they think they have the best chance of winning.

As I said in another thread, I have absolutely nothing against MSU.
I was just convinced that Schlossnagle wanted to live out his legacy at TCU.
I have zero problem admitting I could’ve been wrong.

Good luck to y’all.

Why are you including Cal State Fullerton in this? You don't think they are in the pac 12 do you?

No, they're in the Big West. I've actually been to a few of their games.

You do know every PAC 12 team isn't in SoCal, right?

So what does Cal State Fullerton's National Championships have to with The Pac-10/12 being a preeminent conference for baseball?

youre the only one talking about "all time". in the last 10 years (since OSU went back to back) the SEC has been the best BB conference by every supportable metric, and thats all that is relevant to this coaching discussion.

If true, MSU is getting a great coach. I wish MSU and Coach Schloss the very best.

The caveat is something not one State fan has talked about -- and that is the most important piece to the puzzle:

Saarloos.

If Saarloos doesn't join his staff at MSU, then you are going to be missing the main key component to Schloss's success. Coach Schloss without Saarloos is a vastly different scenario. Just as it was at TCU.
