Schloss has a pretty good set up otherwise.

His best set up was having Saarlos all these years as pitching coach

That makes it sound like a kid can’t get a half or 3/4 or even full scholly...which is possible

Anyone who would turn down a SEC baseball school would have to be crazy.

TCU will always be TCU.

Thankfully, that is true.

And even more thankfully, A&M will always be A&M.

Good read albeit 5 years old, pretty much details why TCU is an auto "no go" for half the kids they target.

Schloss has to be kicking himself for not taking the Texas job 2 years ago or signing a contract that essentially blocked him going there.

Cakewalks are nice.

I'll go 12-0 and play in Rose Bowls all day long. When was the last time you played in the Rose Bowl?

I love the SEC. It's the best conference when it comes to college football. I've lived in Mississippi, Florida, and South Carolina. Been around it all my life.

Besides, the tread is about TCU, is it not? Seems appropriate.

Many coaches are attracted by the idea of being at a school where the university is the only gig.
As one sports writer said in article I read this morning, “There is always tremendous pull to a job that is the only show in town.”

Count me as someone who didn’t think this would happen—I said as much on this board.
Admittedly, I was unaware that Schlossnagle was facing the issues at TCU that he’s grappled with over the past year or so (e.g.,TCU averaged 4,442 attendance in 2018; the AD situation; wanting to hire another coach).
Those variables could be enough to cinch the deal.

Lupton isn't a giant park. It's listed capacity is 4,500 so I would say 4,442 is pretty strong.

What is the issue with the AD? There no is zero chance an AD worth a damn wanted to get rid of a coach who takes his team to Omaha year after year.

But why would you leave the Dallas Metroplex for buttfrick Mississippi?

Why would you want to go to college station over Dallas and Ft Worth? Houston? And yes, Austin? They all provide much more than College Station.

I wasn’t criticizing TCU’s attendance; just highlighting that Schlossnagle would be playing in front of a much larger crowd at State (he’s gone on record stating that he wants TCU to upgrade [already fantastic] Lupton Stadium, to include a club area).

My AD comment was in response to the speculation/whispers about how the departure of Chris Del Conte—who inked him to his latest contract—may have changed the Schlossnagle dynamic at TCU.

Certainly nothing definitive; just wonderin’, that’s all.
