Hypothetical: do you pick Texas over 1 loss Bama and 1 loss UGA?

Let's say Bama and Texas win out... You have a 1 loss Texas, 1 loss UGA, and 1 loss Bama. Do you think Texas gets in over EITHER sec school? Remember, the committee is challenged to find the best 4 teams... Is 1 loss Texas better than both 1 loss sec teams?

I think you have to put Texas in. I don't think they're better than either team, but since they beat Alabama on the road, tie breaker automatically goes to them. Bama beating Georgia would give the Tide the edge on that front, so...if Texas wins out, they get in first.

By that logic, we should do away with the committee.... Which I totally agree with. Play your way in, like the NFL.

I could see arguments for all 3. Ultimately, I think it would come down to the H2H. tu beat Bama who beat UGA.

This is entirely dependent on other teams and how they finish. Most likely the loser of the Ohio State Mich game is out without a lot of chaos. They might be able to sneak it in a few scenarios but all them require UGA to be undefeated and Wash to lose.
FSU also is a big player in this. They could easily lose now without their qb and they certainly aren’t making it with one loss. I don’t think Texas has much of a shot at top 4. They need too much to fall in front of them.

They should rank Texas above but they won't. Because they beat Bama head to head.
However, the Milroe sucked arse and has since improved narrative/Texas struggling also has some merit.
The committee will justify their decision by making the more complicated and less straightforward decision.

If they were looking for the 4 best teams TCU wouldn't have been in the CFP last year.

Texas would be ahead of both if that were to happen.
But, they both would prob jump a 1 loss Oregon. They would not jump an undefeated FSU, IMO.
Mich/OSU winner
FSU
Texas
Bama

Its the ol' best teams vs most deserving teams dilemma

I'd go w/ one loss Texas. Reason being, committee prioritizes conference championships. This would cross out UGA in this scenario, leaving UA and Texas and Texas would have the head-to-head here.

Not a chance. They have no impressive wins other than Alabama - they've been surviving at best the last few weeks. They did survive though. The SEC champ is getting in. If FSU goes undefeated they are in. The PAC champ is definitely getting in unless Oregon falters down the stretch. The B1G champ is getting in.
No room for Texas in a four team playoff if FSU wins out. They need to be rooting against FSU at this point.

Yes, Texas should go in that scenario. It already proved it is better than Alabama by beating Bama (on its home field, no less).

Bruh they run this never before seen defense called a 3-3-5 totally exotic and new. No way someone could hang 70 on them in the title……

Yes.
Head to head has to mean something.

If everything else holds serve, yes, 1 loss UT Big 12 Champ gets in over 1 loss Bama SEC Champ and 1 loss UGA.
Your playoff would be:
Undefeated UM / OSU Big 10 Champ
Undefeated Washington Pac 12 Champ
Undefeated FSU ACC Champ
1 loss UT Big 12 Champ
Head to head has to count for something, otherwise kiss those big time regular season OOC games goodbye going forward.

You just said GA and Bama are better than Texas but you put Texas in due to a week 2 win. That goes against everything that the committee was designed to do, get the 4 best teams.
If GA and Bama are better than Texas, either one of them should go in above Texas. Unfortunately, the committee is all about the most deserving and inclusion now.
