So for playoff appearances, the B1G has kicked our arse.
this is easily explainable. The Big top to bottom sucks chode, and relies on a few very top heavy big hitters while the middle -down of the league is putrid. Compared to the SEC where you also have big hitters at the top but a MUCH stronger middle/bottom. As a result the SEC middle tier beats up on each other and eliminates each other from playoff contention, while teams that may only be "pretty good" in the big 10 skate by by playing horrendous competition.
Look at this year as a prime example. If Vandy or Texas played a big 10 schedule they're both likely in the playoffs

Passed in June of 2021 but would not have had an effect until the 2022 recruiting/transfer cycle.
Your assessment should be based on accomplishments over the last four seasons.

Meh.
I like to see UGA at the top of any positive list. But I don’t put too much stock into that list yet.
It seems some programs like to spend more $ on retaining proven players on their roster. Others spend more in the portal. And I’m sure there are wealthy programs that have plenty of $ to do both.
Please pardon my ignorance if I’m wrong. I don’t care enough to follow all the NIL rules, although I keep hearing it’s like the wild west.
But my gut tells me we probably need a few more seasons before we try to make any definitive conclusions.
As always, I could be wrong.

I'm honestly surprised that LSU is doing that well. Solid 8-4 average which is not bad if you think about it.

The south is just very poor, as soon as other colleges with more to lose (Michigan, ND, USC) started paying it made it much harder to win

not that it really matters for something arbitrary but in any sorting system I don't see how Ole Miss would go higher . you do you though

I made them a tie. Ole Miss won more games over that period and went further in the playoff. Texas went to more playoffs. I think all of that balances out, which is why I tied them both at 3.
It doesn't matter who is listed first if it is a tie.

12t. Florida 29-34
14. MSU 28-34
15. Auburn 27-35
16. Vanderbilt 26-36
So apart from Georgia and some fading Bama and a flash from Ole Miss, what you're saying is that the actual historic SEC is getting left behind in the NIL era?
Good thing the SEC invited the Texas schools and Oklahoma to carry it forward.

Texas has made 2 CFP semifinals, Ole Miss made 1 (and has not gone further as you incorrectly claimed). Ole Miss also has not been to SEC CG and Texas has despite only being in league for 2 years
Also, Ole Miss ooc schedule has been an absolute joke to date. Record would be worse if they were playing legit teams like Ohio State out of conference

The SEC has come back to the pack.
Programs can't recruit and retain high quality dept and stack blue chippers like cord wood.
Since 2023 UGa, I don't see any dominant teams.
The same is true for the B1G although I think their style of play with more balanced, complimentary, physical football has been the difference to some degree.
The traditional power teams have regressed to the mean. We haven't reached an equilibrium yet so it's too early to rank teams.

Mississippi is very poor. Georgia, Florida, Texas, and even Louisiana are not poor. There are massive industries centered in these states
