How pissed off do you think Jimbo is right now with this video coming out lol.
Probably not at all.
I really don't want to buy into the stereotype of Southerners as slaw-jacked yokels that are always slow on the uptake but this board gives me pause.
At this point, almost every school around the country has built collectives that are advertising guaranteed NIL money on an annual basis to any recruit that commits.
If any butthurt emanates from this board, it is that many SEC schools perfected the old school cheating and that whole dynamic was blown up by a system that allow for market like competition for services. Rather than get with the program (as Nick Saban was begging for donor NIL dollars on video the other day) so many fanbases want to cry and hope the old backroom deals are reinstituted.
Wake the F#$k Up!!! The world has changed. Maybe it changes back (probably not) but until then go with the new rules.

I am just glad the coaches of the other 13 SEC schools are not rape enablers.

As long as the boosters are doing it through a collective then they’re not doing anything wrong.
Which would also technically make his statement true - the players are getting paid by boosters (legally).

Lol everyone that thinks this is a story doesn’t understand how NIL collectives work.
What are NIL Collectives and how do they operate?

No s%^t . . . .we are way past the point of Bama players riding to practice in $80,000 cars or LSU paying recruits parents.

^^^^ this is legal.
So what the aTm coach said could technically be both legal and true.

No one is talking about the NIL deals themselves.
The point is that NIL deals are supposed to come AFTER a player enrolls in a school and not be used as a comparative recruiting tool.
The most serious accusation against A&M is that they gave detailed (price figure) and "guaranteed" NIL offers to recruits.
This video doesn't go that far but is a violation nonetheless of "using NIL to recruit" and comes out right after one of the biggest stories in college football has been Fisher's adamant denials that A&M has used NIL as a recruiting tool.

Probably best to not try and justify your coaches denial of all of this. You’re busted, and now we all get to laugh at that.

He's going to come down on that dude hilariously bad. He just made him look stupid.
I cant imagine living in the kind of denial A&M fans do.

Saying the rich people up in the suites will pay out a lot in NIL dollars isn't an enticement, it's just stating facts. Other schools use NIL just as we do.
That is very different than publically saying here is what we will pay for you to come here, or specifically saying here is your gaurentee for X/year if you come play here.

quote:I understand what comprises an NIL Collective. I simply point to the fact that the NCAA has had a long standing rule in place that has nothing to do with the SCOTUS NIL ruling. It is perfectly legal and allowable to for an NIL collective to negotiate an name, image, likeness contract with a student athlete.
^^^^ this is legal.
The NCAA does not allow a representative of a member school (boosters) to be involved with recruitment or offer an inducement to a prospective student-athlete in exchange for the signature with the member school. NIL collectives can not be involved in the recruitment process.
