Lol everyone that thinks this is a story doesn’t understand how NIL collectives work.
What are NIL Collectives and how do they operate?
As long as the boosters are doing it through a collective then they’re not doing anything wrong.
Which would also technically make his statement true - the players are getting paid by boosters (legally).

A reminder for you....
Saban: "We were second in recruiting last year. A&M was first," Saban said. "A&M bought every player on their team. Made a deal for name, image and likeness. We didn't buy one player. I don't know if we're going to be able to sustain that in the future because more and more people are doing it."
Jimbo: "It’s a shame that we have to do this. It’s really despicable," Fisher said. "It’s despicable that somebody can say things about somebody and, more importantly, 17-year-old kids. You're taking shots at 17-year-old kids and their families. That they broke state laws, that we bought every player on this group. We never bought anybody."

Boosters providing incentives for high school players to sign with their team is still against ncaa rules
How is that different if it’s from an individual or a group?
