Set the five year eligibility, max, and go ahead and set collective bargaining. The push back on collective bargaining has me baffled. Universities/coaches bitch and moan and it literally is a simple solution.

NIL isn’t the issue. if kids couldn’t move freely without consequence then paying them wouldn’t be a problem. The issue is that kids like TJ Finley can go to 7 colleges in their career and try to leverage every move for more money. If kids had to sign binding 2 year contracts and/or were only allowed one free transfer, a lot of the issues would go away.

There’s a huge jump in physical development between 18 and 25, especially if those next 7 years are spent developing under a trained group of professionals. Hell, even Joe Bob who trains few days a week and eats a decent diet will look like Arnold compared to his 18 year old self at 25.

Are you stupid? When i used to work out and before I became a fat arse in my older age I was maxxing about 275-285 on bench press right out of high school and was around 350 at age 25. There is a huge difference in the physicality of an 18 year old and a 25 year old.
