LSU is selective admissions.
Average ACT score: 26.
A Land, Sea, Space grant school.
Two medical schools. A law school. A vet school and a dental school.
Not bad.

For many people in state, the TOPS program is too good of a deal to go elsewhere. For my family that lives in Louisiana, they all go to LSU because when you consider out of state tuition, it’s hard to justify.

Bro it isn't exactly difficult to get into LSU. None of the SEC schools except maybe Vandy are difficult to get into.

I ain't sure how many it is but I was in Red Stick one morning and needed change for a parking meter. I walked into the admissions office and handed a lady a dollar and she handed me 3 quarters and a Petroleum Engineering Degree. I tried to give it back but she wouldn't take it until I gave her 2 of the quarters back.....

It is my understanding, and I could be way off base, but the acceptance rate at LSU is pretty high - as it should be for a state university. The academics at a state university should be the barrier to a degree, not the admissions process.
