Ole Miss? WTF

Yeah it’s still weird to me. Arkansas would have been perfect.

Ol’ Miss and OU fans just complimented each others programs the whole week leading up to the game.

The sheep humpers cared more about it than we did. That game was always the highlight of their year. I've known many a poke fan that was happier when we lost than when they won in a weekend.

The Bedlam reindeer humper will never be forgotten.

Don’t listen to these OU fans, literally everyone from Oklahoma has a sibling/cousin/uncle who’s an OSU fan. Bedlam has been around our entire lives.

Yes Bedlam is lopsided towards OU and doesn’t compare to say the RRS, but it was good for the state.

I personally miss it and would like to see it brought back as a permanent out of conference game.

I hate seeing the state and direction Oklahoma State is currently in because again, I support the state as a whole. A healthy Bedlam and competitive OSU is good for the state.

Don't listen to the "I root for the state" OU fans.
FFS man.

Course this shows that Bedlam is not a rivalry at all. Think Bama is rooting for the whole state???

If I were OU I’d want it on the schedule like UGA has Tech because it’s a non-conference P4 game against a team that’s non competitive for the near term future. It’s not like UF having to deal with FSU/Miami or USCe playing Clemson where it’s a near SEC caliber roster most years. With the 9 game SEC schedule I’d play that as the OOC game and focus on conference and CFP contention and call it a day.

I think OU tried to work something out with OSU to have annual OOC game but they wouldn’t.

Bama fans are the same way. Go see them in October. Iron Bowl doesn’t even matter, UT rivalry is bigger and best in SEC, we don’t care about Auburn.

Shift to November. OMG Becky, the Iron Bowl is the greatest rivalry in all sports!

Yeah geographic proximity should have played a bigger factor in rivalry selection especially if you are going to force a rivalry..,

The closest SEC campus to OU? Ark
The closest SEC campus to Ark? OU

I think Arkansas-LSU and OU-Mizzou will be the rivalry week matchups from now going forward.

Non-competitive is right. Aggie State has not won a Big-12 conference game in 2 seasons.

OU owns the series 91 - 20 - 7.

In the expanded playoff era, I prefer to play more high-profile P4 teams OOC. It helps with strength of schedule.

For example, this season we played Michigan and won. That win is helping us with the CFP. A victory over Aggie State would be worth nothing.

Just fricking stop. They are a very important rivalry. Trying to deny that just shows how important it is.

Alabama went undefeated that season and won the Rose Bowl and we don’t even claim that title over Army

I’m not sure given the erratic nature of the committee that they do much beyond look at record and conference most years.

For example by what methodology is Oregon ranked where they are?

Is it their huge win over Iowa (who almost lost to 3 win Michigan State this weekend)?

It definitely isn’t SOS.

Point being if I’m scheduling games in the SEC moving forward my schedule is going to look like Ole Miss or even Missouri rather than OU or Florida.

Pokes had a few moments of glory in that series and to reiterate playing OU was their big game.

When it was in Stillwater the only way to get a ticket was to buy a season package, no singles which we always felt was a way to limit the number Sooners fans in the stadium.

I went to Stillwater a couple of times as a student and it was like seeing aggie jokes being acted out in real life.

I don't miss this game but it was always fun beating them.

when they began scheduling it at the end of the season to replace Nebraska, it felt gross. OU-NU mattered on the national stage for decades. Thanksgiving in Stillwater is not Thanksgiving in Lincoln by a far stretch.

OSU was the traditional season ending game for a long time before the Nebraska game ever started being the season ender.. In fact, even AFTER we started ending some seasons with Nebraska... we STILL actually played OSU to end the season after the Nebraska game. We actually didn't play Nebraska on Thanksgiving weekend all that often in the grand scheme of things.

After Nebraska went off the yearly schedule... it became more random who we played last. We ended the year with Texas Tech some years... including the last Big XII season.

Don’t care…it was just another Big 12 game…..

Aggies should forget about trying to make an issue about it…..

We will always have the RRSO and it will always be the biggest game for both Oklahoma and Texas…..

OKST already had contracts in place for its OOC through 2029. We would have had to buy our way out of those contracts to play OU.

So, OU leaves and we get stuck with the bill?

Football Bedlam may return after 2029.

I honestly do not care about losing Bedlam. It added nothing to OU.. just provided little brother a reason to exist.

I have not thought about it at all these last two years. Besides, Mizoo is little brothers replacement. They too, will now base their season on beating OU.
