Alabama has grown by 6.7% since 2010 - 28th largest growth rate over that period in the country. But other than that, nailed it. The only states that lost population since 2010 are Illinois, Mississippi and West Virginia.

Correct. And since 2020, Alabama is 24th in absolute growth, with the growth rate accelerating between 2021 and 2022 much faster than it did between 2020 and ‘21.

The last year or so has been the best for growth in Alabama in a couple decades.

Granted, almost all the growth is in 3 counties (Baldwin, Madison, and Lee) but at least we’re growing.

When I was in my 20’s, my friends and I would go there to ride the Marta tripping ( not condoning) just to see the freaks that come out at night. Or would go to Blind Willies for a good time. Hell we saw many concerts ; Metallica , Ozzy , GunsNRoses , Motley Crue. It’s not the same. It was rough then but now. No thanks

Has it gotten worse? Probably a bit. But don’t underestimate the wisdom one gains as they age. It was nearly as bad when you were younger but you were too young to notice.

I went to San Francisco roughly a year ago. It was actually my first time there.

Moron, that is the list of District Attorneys over the years. Not assistant DA’s.

Thank you clarifying the assistant part. I’m sure you did a swell job assisting with your trademark bow tie. An advocate for the people I’m sure.

It’s a good thing you don’t post like a fat, drunken redneck. The irony

Dude, I married (and divorced) a chick from Floyd County who went to Pepperell HS. You do not want to get in a discussion of redneckism comparing Georgia and Bama with me.

Sir, I believe you missed the part of my post where I said AI could have Georgia as well.

I live in East Cobb and I work in DeKalb County (Dunwoody). When I drive into Dunwoody I feel like I’m driving into San Francisco. It’s awful.

Dunwoody is the exact opposite of San Fran.

Have you been to San Francisco lately? Like in the past 5 years? I assure you Dunwoody is not that bad.

I have no clue what he's talking about. Dunwoody is an upper class suburban area, there aren't homeless people and needles everywhere like SF.

I've been all over the country. There are rednecks in every state. Here in CA they're mostly clustered in Bakersfield and Fresno.

It's always funny when someone from a southeastern state tries to make fun of any other in the region for having "rednecks." It's usually a really dumb poster like the OP.

San Fran has a lot of very affluent areas. Dunwoody and Brookhaven would hardly be considered “suburban.” More like city adjacent. Johns Creek is suburban. And perimeter mall is extremely dangerous and an absolute shithole. You clearly haven’t been to that area recently. And most of the people that live in Brookhaven and Dunwoody are limousine liberals. So, is it an exact replica of San Fran? Of course not. But I was exaggerating to make a point. And it isn’t as far off as you would think.

Because your state is actually declining in population, I don’t think you have to resort to reverse psychology to keep people away.

Except that it isn't. The state is not growing fast but it's far from declining in population. In fact, Alabama was actually ranked #9 among all states in net domestic migration in 2022. Lots of rednecks from the Midwest moving down here to Baldwin County in fact

At least Alabama voted for MAGA! What candidate carried Georgia in 2020?

Have you been to Georgia? Seriously, below Chatsworth is a great mix of redneck strongholds, wannabe thugs, and ANTIFA LARPers.
