We have lived in East Cobb for many years on and off, moved to Sandy Springs for a short time then back to East Cobb when it was time for our kids to go to school.

East Cobb has become a liberal heaven and as soon as we retire we are moving to Ellijay or other parts of the mountains or maybe Alabama.

I have lived in GA all my life, except the years I went to Bama, and to say that there are more rednecks in AL than GA is just crazy. And btw, there is nothing wrong with rednecks, I would rather my car break down on the side of the road in Sandersville than downtown Atlanta at 9:00pm!

Georgia, without all the transplants in Atlanta, is basically just another Alabama or Mississippi. Hope this helps.

The Georgia colony was a utopian project imagined by James Oglethorpe. They’ve always been fruits. Lol.

For mercy sakes don't forget the embarrassment of UGA's Hershel's campaign for Senate. Sad, very sad.

When I was in my 20’s, my friends and I would go there to ride the Marta tripping ( not condoning) just to see the freaks that come out at night. Or would go to Blind Willies for a good time. Hell we saw many concerts ; Metallica , Ozzy , GunsNRoses , Motley Crue. It’s not the same. It was rough then but now. No thanks

Reminds me, I left one of my bank cards at Blind Willie’s a couple of years ago. I didn’t realize it til I got all the way back to Alabama. Was dating a girl long distance who lived in Virginia Highland. She was almost walking distance to Dark Horse Tavern, Barbacoa (which used to be Noche), Fontaine’s, Bookhouse Pub. We hung out with the hippies and trippies and day-glo freaks in Little Five Points. She took me to my first visit to The Clermont. What a trip that place is. Okay, enough memory lane rambling…

You are absolutely correct on that. I was raised and grew up with what is commonly referred to as "rednecks" in the rural South. I went to college and eventually got a Masters. People that are commonly referred to as rednecks are generally working class white people. People I grew up with were honest and non-violent folks. They would always give a helping hand to friends or strangers.

Somehow Hollywood and the media picked up on the term of redneck and it became commonly used in reference to Southern whites. No matter your social class or economic standing if you are a Southern born and raised white man the rest of the country will refer to you as a redneck or hillbilly. It just goes with the territory.

On a youtube channel the other day a big ten person referred to SEC schools as "redneck schools that don't care about education." This is the narrative a lot of the rest of the country buys into in a big way. Can you imagine the fall out if he had referred to HBCU schools as "those N***** schools?"

I always get amused when SEC fans accuse other SEC fanbases as having more rednecks or being more rednecky than theirs. I have lived in four different Southern states at various times in my life. They are all about the same as far as I am concerned.

Your family has to be really proud of you. Do you ever let them see your post on the rant? You know, just to let them know what they raised?

It appears some of them are. Ironically, your own fanatic behavior is similar to theirs. You're obsessed. Eaten up.

We’ve always been a state full of drunken rednecks who just so happen to have the greatest college football program of all time

Notice how the bammer aknowledges that all rednecks are bama fans??. As the saying goes, "not all alabama fans are rednecks, but all rednecks are alabama fans"

For a redneck you sure seemed confused on the subject.

Evolve? Doesn't belong in the same sentence with Alabama.
