Pittman said he isn't worried about his job.

What else would you expect him to say? It's going to take a nosedive in ticket sales and attendance for him to be let go. We're not that serious about football. It's all about basketball and baseball unfortunately.

If those coaches have a bad year, fewer than 7 wins, that is correct…..but 7 or more none are hot……with only 6 wins they all are hot!!!!!

Six wins would cool off Stoops seat.

We have low expectations for him this year.

Probably too high if we're all being honest.

I wouldn't say either of these are safer than Kiffin or the Year 1 guys, and certainly not Beamer. His record is only marginally better than Muschamp's heading into year 5. If he bombs this year, he is far less safe than if Kiffin were to bomb this year.

Heupel is probably safe, but I would still say Kiffin and Drink are safer

Pittman's the only coach who may not be around for 2026 - he's won 3 SEC games in three seasons - 4 in another - and the 1-win season in 2023 -

2 or less SEC wins - and Hogs probably make a move - depending on how much $$$ Calipari lets Yuracheck spend on football -

It's almost like they forgot BK's contract duration to say this

It is Lebby’s SECOND YEAR. With what he inherited, we all understand it is going to take some time to get State back to competitiveness. We will be better this year but the record will most likely not be much better.
Unless we can pull off an upset or two. Which is not out of the realm of possibility.

But he is not on the hot seat at all.

Pittman went 4-8 two years ago and nothing happened.

He could go 4-8 again and nothing will happen.

As long as he can win 4-6 games a year then Arkansas will be in no hurry to fire him.

Some of you LSU fans are delusional and living in fantasy land.

If LSU doesn't make the CFP, BK is gone.

He's already been told this.

He'll either retire or resign with a settlement a la Orgeron at the end of the season if there's no CFP appearance........

BK’s agent absolutely swindled Woodward into facilitating that asinine contract and it’s going to cost our program big time if Kelly doesn’t give results. Kelly is an okay coach but he’s nowhere near being worth that amount of money.

The bigger problem ultimately is Woodward. He has a history of offering absolutely ludicrous contracts to washed up, older coaches who are nearing retirement age. Johnson could win 10 CWS and yet baseball still wouldn’t pull in even a third of the revenue that football pulls in. If Kelly fails (which is looking more likely unless proven otherwise), then Woodward needs to get the frick out of Baton Rouge.

Pitman is a good guy, but this is kind of sad for Arkansas as a program.

Pittman has a unique buyout clause - adjusted with his 2022 extension he got -
quote:

Kiddy pointed out that Pittman's buyout stands at $9.55 million, but the details regarding his contract and buyout are quite complex. His buyout is contingent upon whether the Razorbacks are above or below .500 since the beginning of the 2021 season, and currently, they are one game below that threshold. This situation means Pittman would be owed only 50% of his remaining contract, whereas he would receive 75% if Arkansas were above .500.

Pittman is under contract through 2027, and an automatic raise of $250,000 took effect after the Razorbacks' win against Texas Tech in the Liberty Bowl, bringing his annual salary to $5.5 million. Additionally, there are two potential retention bonuses of $1.3 million each. As a result, the remaining value of his contract totals $19.1 million, and half of that amount corresponds to the $9.55 million buyout.

if Pittman doesn't win 6 and reach a post-season bowl I think it puts the Arkansas brass in a precarious spot to allow Sam to coach out his final 2 years and let the contract just expire - or find a way to justify another extension to recruit and keep staff while owning a sub .500 overall record -

eta - FTR I like Pittman and hope he makes some serious noise with the Hogs this fall - leaving a few teams on his schedule slack-jawed and humbled -
